Re: FunCostumes.com Frock Coat
You have mighty fine coat there, Banditxx1. Well done with it. Digging the aged look. I'm still trying to weigh my options as to get an expensive coat, or cheap(affordable) coat, but then will have to under go construction which will cost money.

Re: FunCostumes.com Frock Coat
Hi mates,
I paid 189 USD for the coat and the other (unusable!) costume pieces. I sold the shirt, vest, breeches on ebay and got some money for this crap...
But now they offer this costume-set for 149 USD! Bad luck for me...aaargh.
The tailor took (bad luck again) 250 EUR and the buttons from Simon were roundabout 60 USD (can't remember exactly, sorry).
The costume-patina and "Dirty-down-spray" were not only bought for the frock-coat. I used this stuff for weathering all the other costume pieces as well.
Roughly spoken, this coat took roundabout 500 USD in total....

FleetStreetNightmare wrote:The baldric and belts aren't even worth keeping. I gave the baldric to a friend who wanted it for her pirate costume (kind of was just a one time thing), and the baldric broke right away. Plus ACME's buckles are pretty heavy, I don't think the baldric would hold up well with one of their buckles on it. Might as well just go out and buy an actual leather baldric and replace the buckle.
The sash is good to keep around though in case you want to use it for a different pirate costume, I actually liked the material okay... kinda flimsy, but still kinda nice.
My buckle is actually fairly lightweight due to the sculpted out design so might hold up better (it's just under 100g)

Coat is looking excellent. Hope to get a similar result on the one sold to me by good friend Mondas42 (Martin)!
