Delays?
In the fourth film the cast and crew were told by Disney not to occupy their time in the near future, as the studio intends to shoot a fifth and sixth film back-to-back. However, it has since been stated that only a fifth film is in the works. On January 14, 2011, it was confirmed that Terry Rossio will write the screenplay for the fifth installment, without his co-writer Ted Elliott. Johnny Depp said that he would be happy to return as Captain Jack Sparrow saying "As long as we can put all the puzzle pieces together, I would most definitely consider it". Jerry Bruckheimer said that the fifth film would be a stand-alone film. According to Terry Rossio, the script for the fifth film is finished, and he has handed the script to Disney executives. Speaking at the fourth film's press launch in Cannes, Depp said he would play the role for as long as it is popular with the public.
Disney has a wish list of directors they would like to direct, as Rob Marshall has not yet accepted nor declined to direct. The list includes Tim Burton, Sam Raimi, Alfonso Cuaron, Shawn Levy, Chris Weitz, and original Pirates director Gore Verbinski. Verbinski and Burton are Disney's top choices as they have both worked with Disney and Johnny Depp on numerous occasions. On July 6, 2011, Johnny Depp was reported to be close to a deal for the fifth film. Due to Depp's filming of Lone Ranger (2012–13) they will not be filming the 5th installment until 2014. Orlando Bloom said he would like to return for a fifth film if he was offered. In August 2012 news surfaced that Johnny Depp signed on officially for the fifth film. On January 11, 2013, Jeff Nathanson signed on to write the script for the film. On January 14, 2013, Disney revealed that the film would be released on July 10, 2015.

I'd like to see the following title
Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Men Tell No Tales
Perfect title to bring back all the old Pearl crew that everyone is saying are dead!

I posted that poster somewhere else, it's just a photoshop fan art thing....

Yeah...It is pure fanmade art, but it blew some wind into the POTC5 sails for a brief moment...These doldrums suck.
Re: NEWS for Pirates 5 "Dead Men Tell No Tales" [WARNING] may contain spoilers
The only thing that throws me off is the reference to TDKR...that and seeing Orlando and Keira's names.
Ah, and now we're back to seeing the "wish list of directors" yet again If memory serves, most of those names were "candidates" (and I use that term loosely) of directors for OST...particularly Mr. Burton! Safe to say I'll be surprised if any of them are confirmed. I'm sure Disney'll try and bring back either Rob Marshall or Gore Verbinski, but won't say anything until they see how Lone Ranger plays out. My opinion, they should have Gore back! I'm content with what Marshall gave us for OST(heck it made money and some blokes liked it), but in the end it didn't have that great feel that Verbinski gave the franchise. Or even Jim Byrkit, who's just as good as Gore if you ask me. Kind gentlemen of fortune he was.
I'm willing to bet that at least either Pintel or Ragetti (more than likely both) would return, as they were considered for the plot of OST.

I still can't understand idea why people persist that the Pearl crew is dead. Well, yeah, Barbossa said "I survived!" but what does that prove? Barbossa said the Pearl was sunk (though that was in his character's POV)...but we all know what happened to the Pearl. Main point, right now we're to know that Barbossa believes the Pearl is sunk but in reality it's in a bottle. Chances are, though admittedly it is unconfirmed, Barbossa believes he's the only survivor of Blackbeard's attack while in reality the old Pearl crew is not dead. It's not 100% truth but tis possible - if Cotton's Parrot made it, the crew could make it as well (can't say the same as Jack the Monkey)Capn_Jack_Savvy wrote:I'd like to see the following title

Thanks for the (non)update, Sparrowed!
I'm still betting we'll get a real update sometime around (or most likely after) The Lone Ranger's release. Or maybe during D23, as they announce news rather than just hang around, don't they? I doubt they'll do the "Johnny Depp dressed as Captain Jack" bit, but they're likely to make an announcement of some sort.
What I really want to know is...Ted Elliott?! Didn't he, like, leave? Or did Bruckheimer mistakenly include his name? I sorta think it's the latter, as he seemed zoned out.

Disney’s fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean,” movie was filmed in Hawaii, and it’s been “hinted” the franchise will come back for the fifth film, scheduled to be released in 2015. ...

By now you must of heard that Depp is going to be in a Rob Marshall musical, but in case you haven't:

Anyways...
What the heck is the hold up with the script, I wonder. Too many "cooks"?

Anyways...
This news carries several sub-categories of consequence, mostly in regards to another Disney tentpole. First, it pretty much guarantees Marshall won’t be back for Pirates of the Caribbean 5, which has a July 10, 2015 release date already in place. It also suggests that script is far from ready if Depp is considering doing this before a film that already has a release date in place.

Re: NEWS for Pirates 5 "Dead Men Tell No Tales" [WARNING] may contain spoilers
I blame The Lone Ranger, since Jerry, Terry and Johnny are all involved in it Hopefully we'll get more news around its release.
And yes, I included Terry because he's technically not out. True Jeff Nathanson is now part of P5, but that doesn't mean Terry's out. Just sayin'.
But glad to know that Rob Marshall's probably not directing P5. Not trying to bad-mouth Rob, as I was OK with what he did for OST(and it did do some good)...however, he isn't Gore. So I'm rooting for Master Verbinski to take the helm and bring back the franchise to how it should be!

Who should the villain be for Pirates 5?
So yea, Who should the villain be for Pirates 5? There are a lot of great pirates in lore both famous and fake? Who should Jack come up against next? Personally, I want a Captain Hook and Smee cameo in the background. Maybe with Smee holding a tiny bag that's glowing and kicking.

Jurassic Park 4 and Pirates of the Caribbean 5 are heading to tropical lands. According to a source who spoke with Pacific Business News, the two films will be shooting in Hawaii in the near future, along with Godzilla and Cameron Crowe’s untitled film. Both franchises have filmed there previously. Jurassic Park 4 is scheduled for June 13, 2014, and Pirates of the Caribbean 5 for July 10, 2015.

"Johnny Depp will once again don his Captain Jack Sparrow attire for Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Disney certainly desires sustaining the Pirates brand and returning it to its glory days of 2006/2007. That two-year period included: the releases of Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End, which grossed hundreds of millions of dollars in the United States alone; the openings of the re-themed attraction at Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom; and increased Pirates merchandise and themed parties at the parks. But that time has gone. On Stranger Tides, while successful internationally, did not meet estimated figures domestically and put a questionable end to this franchise. But Disney knows Pirates holds value, thus reasoning why we will be seeing a fifth film. I, for one, enjoyed On Stranger Tides more than the previous two, but I am in the minority. I appreciated the new direction of the movie, even if it lacked the CGI grandeur. Let us hope this new Pirates will take some risks and amaze audiences in the same way the first one accomplished some 10 years ago now. I doubt this installment will make over $300 million domestically, due to its later release date and waning interest in the series, but who knows how audiences will respond."
Release date: July 10, 2015
Projected domestic gross: At least $200 million

I think, it is also important, which actor is going to be the next villain.
In my opinion, the next Bond-villain or Pirates-5-villain should be Christoph Waltz! He´s able to play that diabolic type of clever and brutal villain at all ....
And beside of Johnny Depp, it is necessary, to have a great actor for the "dark side". And another favourite of mine could be Javier Bardem ... maybe as some kind of spanish pirate-hunter ...
