PROP: Ship In A Bottle
What OST Jack doesn't need one now? There is a wax seal on the end I saw.....
Certainly doesn't look like this: http://www.amazon.com/Pirates-Caribbean-Black-Pearl-Bottle/dp/B000KJ9OJE

No, it doesn't, but there's not a whole lot of other options out there unfortunately. I may have to look at trying to fashion on at some point, though I have no idea how yet.
But I absolutley plan to incorporate this prop into a new skit I"m working on, so will have to make do with what is currently available...

I've considered buying that one on amazon several times...But I'd like to know how big it is first. (TWSS)

That's the thing - they're somewhat smallish... I don't remember the exact dimesnions, but I'd say about half the size as the one from the film. Still, I may get one just to have something...
Then I actually have an excuse for having my 3 goats...er...nevermind that last part....

I've got a few of these. I like it, its a close enough prop. Funny how these were made when the first film came out!

Re: PROP: Ship In A Bottle
Is it just me or does the bottle from the Behind The Scenes photos look much larger than the one that actually is used in the film? The clip is on Youtube so take a look. The scale of the bottle when Master Gibbs lowers his hand to show Jack and the scene when Jack reaches out to pick up said J-O-S! Jar O Ship!

I like the green prop inventory stickers. Need those for true SA-ness

They aren't inventory stickers. They're for inserting the CG

Pics please, my good man? Would be nice to see you holding one for size reference... And is it the very same one listed - the actual Black Pearl in a bottle or a generic ship in a bottle, or Jar O' Ship...either way?
Re: PROP: Ship In A Bottle
I have the same. It is the offical release by Neca when the first film came out. The bottle is not 100% round but flat on the sides. Would not be a good replica but as stated earlier only offical thing out.
Thanks!

Ship in a bottle (Possible spoilers if you don't know...)
So it would appear that the official Black Pearl in a bottle that was released has pretty much sold out all over... I checked several sites. Plus, I've heard mixed reviews as to the quality...
But I really wants me a ship in a bottle for a prop...so I've looked around and have found a few other possibles. None of them match the Pearl in look, of course, but really, at that scale who's going to notice...
Thoughts/opinions on the following greatly appreciated:
Contender #1
I like the size of this one, but the problem is I would have to take the time to attempt to use a tiny brush to get in and give it a repaint - particularly the sails... But I like the overall size...
Contender 2
The color is right, but not as crazy about the bottle... I like the above bottle much more better. But, it IS black, and looks good...
Contender 3
Ship is totally wrong, but if memory serves the bottle is closer to the one in the movie...
So...thoughts?

Re: PROP: Ship In A Bottle
Awesome pic, thank you...
Contender 3 definitely has the right overall shape bottle wise, albeit somewhat smaller. The ship is totally wrong, however...
Of course, given the available options, and given the fact that people probably won't really be seeing all that close, it might work.
I just wish I could get a more piratey looking ship in a bottle somewhere. Now, where's that d@mned compass...
The search continues...

I've decided that I'm just going to try to make the thing on my own once I find the right bottle

Re: PROP: Ship In A Bottle
Yeah, I was thinking of that too, but in the meantime would like something to use for a few skits I'm going to do at shows.
Basically, pulling kids (and adults who look to need a good public embarrassment) to come up and try to get the Pearl out of the bottle. Make three of them act like goats, one act like they're playing a trumpet...so on and so forth. Then, of course, it doesn't work, which leads into more fun.
I hope to get a video of the next show with that added in...
