Re: NEWS for Pirates 5 "Dead Men Tell No Tales" [WARNING] may contain spoilers
Well you all know sometimes denied rumors *do* come to fruition on occasion, I think CB's writer does make a couple valid points about why it's probably NOT true (that is unless they are scouting locations...??)
As you probably could have guessed, Johnny Depp will be coming back as Captain Jack Sparrow, and while no director has been hired yet Terry Rossio has been working on a script. In 2011, around the time On Stranger Tides was released, Depp said that he would be game for a fifth movie, but hoped that the studio would take its time with the franchise and make it "special."
If Disney does plan on making the fifth Pirates movie in November, then they have a lot of work to do. First and foremost they have to find a director to helm the thing, but they also surely need to work out a ton of casting contracts and sign on new actors for new roles (not to mention all of the previsualisation work and production design planning). Here's hoping they have a plan.
Re: NEWS for Pirates 5 "Dead Men Tell No Tales" [WARNING] may contain spoilers
And Terry Rossio said it was untrue over at Wordplayer.com today!

...However, Moviefone reached out to Disney’s reps to ask them whether the movie would be filming on the island, and they said that the report was inaccurate and the flick was still in development. But they offered this cryptic hint towards the film’s plot…
“Will Turner’s story might not be finished…”

Yea, I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not very happy with this news...at least if it turns out to happen.Sparrowed wrote:...However, Moviefone reached out to Disney’s reps to ask them whether the movie would be filming on the island, and they said that the report was inaccurate and the flick was still in development. I already made fuss about this elsewhere, so I'm not going into too much detail(as I'm sure everyone knows). Will's story seemed pretty much over in AWE and, given his current circumstances, there's no way he should be able to return. If he was, it's for commercial reasons only.
Just my opinion on the matter.
Re: NEWS for Pirates 5 "Dead Men Tell No Tales" [WARNING] may contain spoilers
I just read this, "Though the post-credits sequence in At World's End didn't make it explicit, the writers have stated that Will's time on the Dutchman had come to an end when he returned to greet his family. The fact that he fulfilled his duties and Elizabeth remained faithful to him meant Will wasn't doomed to share Davy Jones' fate." Mr. Turner is not bound to the DuthmanCJSFan wrote:Yea, I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not very happy with this news...at least if it turns out to happen.Sparrowed wrote:...However, Moviefone reached out to Disney’s reps to ask them whether the movie would be filming on the island, and they said that the report was inaccurate and the flick was still in development. Not necessarily P5-related, but Wes Anderson confirmed that Johnny Depp wasn't going to be in his movie...
So, what could this mean for Pirates 5? Does Mr. Depp have any other obligations, or will P5 possibly be his next?
Original link"You know, the Internet has a way of announcing things on its own [laughs]. You will find that even though I'm very aware of the cast that has been announced on its own devices, you'll never find me saying who's in the movie. Or, as far as I know, anybody else. I really don't know where it all comes from. In fact, Johnny is somebody who I would love to work with at some point, but he's not going to be in this movie. But I actually have not put the cast out -- I have not announced the cast. We have quite a great cast.

I heard that Depp is getting paid $96 million for P5.
They cannot do it without him.

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has confirmed he will return as Captain Teague for the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
The 68-year-old musician is unsure when the next installment of the hit franchise will start filming but he said that he will again make an appearance as the father of Johnny Depp's lead character Captain Jack Sparrow, reported Ace Showbiz.
"So they say, you know, I've got the costume, and I'm waiting for the heads up, but apparently there is. I don't know if it'll be next year that we shoot it or whatever, but as I say, you know, I got the costume and the beard and the shirt," Richards said.
The Brown Sugar rocker also said that he will know when he is required as soon as he hears from his friend and co-star Depp.
"I'll wait for a call from Johnny," he added. Richards previously appeared in the last two movies in the series, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

While doing press for his upcoming action-adventure reboot The Three Musketeers, Orlando Bloom put the word out that he wouldn’t rule out a return to the lucrative Disney franchise.
Bloom had passed on the fourth Pirates movie to spend time with his girlfriend, now wife, Miranda Kerr. At the time, Bloom had said that he was happy to move on from the franchise and that the third movie had wrapped up his character’s storyline.
Fast forward four years as the fourth Pirates movie grosses over $1 billion worldwide and proves the franchise is still very strong, especially in international markets.
Bloom expressed regret in not being in the fourth movie, saying, "I was quite sad not to be in the fourth and I really miss working on them. If they said they wanted me back, of course I’d do it. It’s great to see the franchise still doing so well."
It’s not as though Bloom really needs the work, especially with the royalty checks coming in from two multi-billion-dollar franchises (Pirates and Lord of the Rings) as well as a return as Legolas in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Since his last Pirates movie in 2007, Bloom has starred in a series of indie films ranging from the Mark Ruffalo-directed Sympathy for Delicious and the dramatic thriller The Good Doctor.

I was reading an article about one of the costumers on OST, (and TLR) and in the article the young woman states that production on P5 is to start in Feb. March 2013.

That sounds great...if it's true.
Koerber said she is enjoying her break on Maui. "I'm doing the next 'Pirates.' They may film 5 and 6 together." Production is scheduled to begin in February or March. In the meantime, she'll busy herself with other projects.

^Indeed. Though I doubt they'd go filming back-to-back...againSparrowed wrote:Koerber said she is enjoying her break on Maui. "I'm doing the next 'Pirates.' They may film 5 and 6 together." But unless if said otherwise, or of course it ultimately doesn't happen, I'll only take this as possible. Not rumor, but not entirely false either. Only time will tell, I guess.

Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum (as well as a bank vault full of cash). Disney has officially begun the process of triggering a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and has hired a noted screenwriter to help the sequel set sail.

As Peter Pan says, "HERE WE GO!"

As much as I would love to see a few characters you listed, I'm not quite sure we will namely Cotton, Ragetti, Pintel, and Marty. I made an assumption that all aboard the Black Pearl except Barbossa are deceased. Everyone including the ship was "taken" but Barbossa. That's all they gave us so, I think it's safe to say make that assumption, right?Capn_Jack_Savvy wrote:We wants Cotton and his parrot..... we wants Ragetti.......... we wants Pintel........... we wants Marty ................. we wants Ana Maria ..........we wants Giselle ............... we wants The Redhead, Scarlett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyways, July 10, 2015 needs to come... like NOW.
Is it 2015 yet??

Ah but ye forget that they all were serving onboard the HMS Interceptor under the command of Captain Ana Maria as well! I am assuming that last we saw the Pearl she was minia-tured thus perhaps leaving the original crew to return to the HMS Interceptor!

At least Pintel and Ragetti should come back, as they were originally suppose to make some sort of appearance, but director Rob Marshall opted out of the idea as he feared their roles would be cut. Taking all that from the first paragraph of this post at Wordplay.
Everyone else, however, is a bit controversial - let alone arguable - at the moment.

Re: NEWS for Pirates 5 "Dead Men Tell No Tales" [WARNING] may contain spoilers
Am I alone in saying that I wouldn't want either Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley to come back?
This talk of Orlando wanting to reprise his role and this so-called Disney exec saying "Will Turner's story may not be over" is getting the best of how far rumors can go. So I have to ask, does anyone really want Will (or maybe Elizabeth) to come back? Or are three films enough? Truthfully, I'm neutral on how I feel upon the two, but I'm for the latter.

You're not alone, I think the franchise needs a nod to SOMEONE to reference the old cast
