I think since Japsith's stuff is coming soon, I'll be selling this vest once I get my beautiful SA fabric!!!

How much would you be parting with said waistcoat for, and do you have some more pics of it? And, what is your height, if you don't mind me asking? The lady I am thinking about getting it for is on the shortish side, about 5 foot even...

Probably $65 starting (the back fabric was particularly not cheap). I'm going to add the black lining to it (can't have an Ange without it!). I may put it on eBay because I have another interested party as well...
I can take more pics. I'm 5'5, and the waistcoat is good for a XS/S size.
EDIT: Here are some pics -

Everyone else get their refund from EW? Bogus news. Hopefully it will be corrected soon-ish.

Re: Angelica Teach ( Film style ) Costume Build
It's such a weird situation.
The photo they sent him definitely IS the right fabric... and there's a girl on KTTC who's uncle works for Disney and was getting it from the same supplier... and then what EW received is COMPLETELY wrong. And I'm not even talking about it being WHITE.
The spacing, sizing and colours are totally off. The embroidery looks hand done, is too puffy, very sloppy and frayed to the point that you can't make out ANY detail in the paisley. It looks like a brutal attempt at a reproduction. All it has that I like are the gold flecks... but even that looks like it was done with that shiny embroidery floss from the dollar store that goes all fray-ey every time you use it.
I'm glad he refunded everyone so quickly upon receiving the abomination that he was scammed into paying a boatload of money for. I just really hope he can rectify the situation and at least get a refund himself if not get the correct fabric.
I'm very curious to see what the girl on KTTC who paid $130/yd for from the same supplier ended up receiving......
If the situation doesn't work out in our favor, I will be colour adjusting my print and ORDERING SWATCHES in different materials/colours until I can get it the closest match. It may take some time since I have no particular driving force seeing as I already have a complete vest... but I'll keep you's posted.

So has Pei been issuing refunds for the entire amount? I just got my shipping refunded but not the full amount.
I don't know something smells fishy about this entire deal and I don't just mean the bilges!

I only paid for the deposit, half of the total, since he hadn't asked for the full amount yet, and that is what was refunded to me.

I got my refund for what I paid. If you paid a deposit and a separate payment for the shipping, maybe he just refunded the most recent transaction? Send'em an email and ask. He's usually pretty fast at replying.
I feel bad that he was ripped off so ... bad. He paid a lot of money + int'l shipping for the fabric and what he received was something completely different.
Again, the source is the same one that PQA ( girl on kttc )'s Disney affiliated Uncle also got 'hook ups' to... so it seems strange that they'd send something of such poor quality instead of what they originally sent photos of. Guess we will have to follow the situation as it progresses...

Wow...looks like I've been missing quite the debacle!
Aelynn, did you get a swatch or did he send you a pic?
I was in for six yards, and I didn't have to send him a deposit, thank goodness!
Hmmm, i wonder if it can be dyed? What's it made of, anyone know? Looks like silk? Hopefully NOT polyester.
It'd take some of that, even as ugly and incorrect as it is...but he'd have to mark it waaaaaaay down. Especially now, since he must have a lot of it at this point unsold....???

He sent me the pic that the supplier sent him ( of the back and front of the actual material ).
It is silk... or so the label said that came with it... but it also said Screen Used Angelica vest fabric and it's definitely not that. o_O
He said he's first and foremost trying to get them to send the correct stuff, so I'd assume an exchange would be in order so that he won't have to repurchase it all again but he said he'd keep us posted. Here's hoping the ordeal works out in our favor in the end, whenever that may be...

Where did he post the stuff for sale at? Or was it through emails only? Any word on the Jack vest material?

I don't get it...I thought he had the connection to the actual product. Could he have had it made?
It just seems odd that the "supplier" has fabric that is that close along with the actual fabric, doesn't it?? Or is it just me being cynical??
Is there an eta on the second batch?

Jodo, just through email.
Sparrowed... it does look like a knockoff, but again, it's the same source that PQA's Disney-affiliated uncle on KTTC had also been in contact with...and that was said by her, not EW. It does seem really weird. I don't think EW would have been sharing that front/back photo of the actual fabric if he knew THIS is what he was going to receive... all it is is basis for comparison of how far off it is. Doesn't make sense! Hope PQA gets hers so we can see what she's supplied with... it is really weird either way. Angelica's looks more like a jacquard to me than actual hand or even machine embroidery, so I have no idea how this embroidered white stuff came about or why anyone would ship it out and call it Angelica's fabric. O_o
He's currently in argument with the supplier he received this from... but even he doesn't know if he'll be able to get the right stuff anymore. =\

That's really too bad.
I sure hope PQA's shares a pic of her fabric when she gets it. I'm dying to see what it looks like!!

Re: Angelica Teach ( Film style ) Costume Build
Yeah my refund just came through as well this afternoon.
So here is my question. If the fabric that EW received is not the correct one I have a strange suspicions that this stuff was manufactured overseas. That in turn it means that this is NOT the same fabric that was used in the movies.
I think I am going to go with your material Aubree! It looks better and I think it will suffice.
The EW material was 100% embroidered pattern. It looked good but the background color was white.

Re: Angelica Teach ( Film style ) Costume Build
Again, the weird thing is that pqa on kttc said her Disney affiliated uncle hooked her up with the supplier and it was the same one as ew's though....very strange. I think the mouse is interfering and intercepting our leads!!!!
The ew fabric, color aside, is good maybe from a distance ...on a shoddy wax museum statue... There's virtually no detail, the spacing is way
WAY too wide, angies paisleys are barely half an inch apart, so either that spacing is wrong or the big paisleys are actually very small...
For my pattern I zoomed Disney pics to actual size and traced and freaking measured the patten so in terms of design it is insanely close. I'll post pics of some swatches when I receive them in a couple variations of colour. I think I'm definitely going to desaturate the whole thing along with a blue black background. I ordered my original one a bit larger dpi than I should have too...so I'll play around with that sizing too. I've never dreaded and at the same time been excited to rework a tedious project. Ha ha!

Re: Angelica Teach ( Film style ) Costume Build
I asked on FB, but I'm asking here too so we can discuss it with other Ange's!!!
What did you use to make it? I tried model magic and then clay and got the same results with both. The model magic held hot glue a bit better but the clay was weakened by it...and in both cases, they cracked ( the clay literally crumbled ) when the leather bent. And I was REALLY careful not to bend it.
Connor suggested to get someone to cast it in pewter or something... I think it'd be a great idea for strength but have no idea where or how to even start looking into that.
Prepare your heart though, 'cause it will look amazing when it's painted, but unless it's cast in something there is a 99% chance it will crumble/crack and it is the most depressing thing EVAR. I'm still not healed from the experience with mine. ToT
