Greetings from the South Pacific!
Just thought I should introduce myself to the court, as you'll hopefully be seeing more of me in the near future!
Pera is my name, from New Zealand. I've been into the costuming hobby for about seven years now, mostly Star Wars stuff, with a few other projects here and there. I've been wanting to do a Jack Sparrow costume for years, and as I'm feeling the itch to start a new project, I've decided it's about time I gave it a go. Better late than never, right?
I also happen to be good friends with Jodo, whose Captain Jack was a huge inspiration to make a start on mine! Jodo, apologies in advance for all the stupid questions I'll be asking, you'll be sick of hearing from me by the time I finish I promise!
Cheers guys!

Welcome aboard mate! Yes, costuming can surely be a highly addicting hobby, especially a character with as many dimensions as dear old Jack.
And there are no stupid questions...okay, there actually are stupid questions, but still, we were all there once and this is truly the place to get those answers!
A good bunch of folks. A good bunch of pirates...

But yea, tons better than a single all inclusive sub-forum of a larger site. I like having multiple sub-forums.

ahoy there mateys, just come across the sight as i was looking for ideas for a costume for my local Pirate day (harry Paye world famous pirate from poole,uk) and while pricing up a traditional pirate outfit, i thought wht not a jack sparrow as i love him and so do my children so today i have made progress ordering breeches, shirt and frock coat from usa just wondering is there any uk Jacks that can point me in the right direction for stuff in the uk thank you

Ahoy there mate! Welcome aboard! Don't limit yourself to just Jacks from the UK (they will have the advantage of getting local swag for you) there be a worldwide community of us! Were did you order your gear from?
Re: Welcome to the Brethren Court
It's all from costume base. Is that a good or a bad thing??? Not to worried if I have to buy more to replace it but it was a start any pointers would be grateful

Not bad if properly modded. Although Costumebase is based out of Singapore not the US.
