We're glad you're here - we really are, because this forum is for fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and for blokes who want to make the best possible pirate costume. As soon as we stop listening to you, or being here for the fans - then we loose sight of why we exist - and no community can survive without people. So welcome aboard!

Navigating:

At "Laffite's Landing" - there is literally anything and everything you can think of, it does not have to be Pirate related. Go ahead and talk about binge drinking, the Texas DMV, raising your kids, your math homework, your last trip to Disneyland, or your last trip to prison. Anything goes here. This is an "open forum" to the public, so maybe your prison stories wouldn't be the best idea. *

"Obsessed With Treasure" This is where you can show off your toys, your props or anything else your proud of. Show us your collection, your display cabinets, or your pirate themed theater room!

"The Canon" is a play on words because pirate ships have actual "canons" but a body of work (like a movie franchise) can also be called a canon, so here in this forum is where you are free to talk about the films. This is our second "open forum."

As a guest in our community you are only allowed access to three of our forums. This is our way of saying "Hi and Welcome" and inviting you into the foyer of our home, but the real living and breathing takes place further in once you enter our community as a member.

The "Captain Jack Costuming" section is literally the sister flagship to the Jack Sparrow Costuming Wiki. We made this forum to allow visitors of the wiki a place to share in community their thoughts and struggles about putting together the best possible Captain Jack costume. We have invited several key vendors who have have had their fingernails stained and their knuckles scraped from years of Jack Sparrow wares and we are hoping to get you "into the same room" with them as it were so that you get the best experience possible. Feel free to ask about auctions, vendors, and how to make, build and weather your wares.

Underneath we have several "sub-forums" dedicated to building a better Sparrow.

In the "The Cursed Crew" you can discuss any and all other Pirate costumes. Sure, it could be Barbossa or Norrington, but it could also be Captain Hook or Smee or your own creation. You don't have to be a "Jack" to pilfer these lands. Anyone who loves dressing like a scallywag or who loves the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is welcome here.

"The Captain's Daughter" is your place to swap loot for booty. In other words, this is where we list sales and trades. Or maybe you're just looking for that last special part for your costume and you need a place to shout to the rooftops!

You: this forum was made with you in mind, so we plan on listening to you. Let us know what you would like to see, or how we can make this community better for you. With that in mind, please be courteous to others. Tearing each other down, insults or any kind of slander will not be tolerated and the "beatings" will begin. So mind your please and thank you's and everyone will get along just fine.

Rank: like any forum - we have a ranking system, you'll notice ours is fun and based off the movies. As you post you will move from a lowly "Whelp" all the Way to a Member of the infamous "Brethren Court." We do have 9 Pirate Lords (sorry, those spots are taken by our board Moderators and we don't really have nine) but you will get the chance to be the "Pirate King." You won't get anything for it other than the total disrespect that the office deserves. But don't let "rank" go to your head.. it's for fun. It has no bearing on how knowledgeable some people are, or who has more clout or whose word carries more weight. We're not trying to create an "actual brethren court" or band of "Pirate Lords."

Banning: yes, we are not afraid to tell you to "walk the plank," but it will only happen to members who are disreputable scallywags who insult, play rough or otherwise push too hard. Other things that could end you up in Davy Jones Locker would be: SPAM, PORN, or Mutiny.

Commerce: you won't be able to make a decent pirate costume without talking about dealers, cost, price, auctions and how much gold it all costs. So go for it, we are not worried that anyone is looking over our little shoulders.

Actually, I agree with Jodo to an extent. I think there are a lot of us who really do share a certain resemblence. Not all of us perhaps, but quite a few. But even so, it's interesting to see what we all look like under all the "effects," simply to see what the differences are, be they small or large

They show extraordinary intelligence, even problem-solving. Especially the big one. We bred eight originally, but when she came in she took over the pride and killed all but two of the others. That one... when she looks at you, you can tell she's working things out.
