Ahoy, new lad here
I just came over here on advice from Cristian; I'm fairly new to all things pirate-related, aside from being a fan of the movies of course (been gathering Sparrow booty since mid 2011), but a recent "event" caused me to register on the KTTC forums to speak my mind.
For anyone interested, you may read the full story there under "The Locker" -> "Got issues?"
(sorry for not linking directly but I'm not allowed to yet... so sayeth the board)
Since I don't want to carry over my grief from one place to another all the while people don't even know me, I'll just be stickin' to introduce myself properly to the brethren court.
As stated on KTTC, my real name's Michael and I'm from the wonderful city of Flensburg, Germany (coordinates be 54°46′55″N 9°26′12″E if ye wanna set sail lol). Now to give you a better view on that particular piece of landscape, here's some interesting facts:
I'm glad there are so many people around who are so open-minded about all of this... as with all good things, it had me a slow, rough and tumble start once I got the idea. When you're not used to it, you just wanna go and throw some pieces together to make up a decent costume that looks anywhere near-pirateish. So did I.
I do have some older pictures on my facebook actually, which are horrible horrible to say the least, but eventually I got me some of the more "accurate" pieces recently, starting to get it all together, and it's like an obsession...
Thinking back where it was only meant as a "joke" for a day out with some friends and colleagues, I can't even believe I spent so much time and effort (in relation to being a newbie, that is) on looking at every detail and so forth. Amazing.
Thank y'all for letting me be part of it.
Cheers!

After the Hanse fell in the 16th century, Flensburg was said to be one of the most important trading towns in the Scandinavian area. Even as far away as the Mediterranean, Greenland and the Caribbean, Flensburg merchants were active. The most important commodities, after herring, were sugar and whale oil, the latter from whaling off Greenland. Only the Thirty Years' War put an end to this boom time as the town was becoming Protestant and thereby ever more German culturally and linguistically, while the neighbouring countryside remained decidedly Danish.
In the 18th century, thanks to the rum trade, Flensburg had yet another boom. Cane sugar was imported from the Danish West Indies (now the US Virgin Islands) and refined in Flensburg. Only in the 19th century, as a result of industrialization, was the town at last outdone by competition from nearby cities such as Copenhagen and Hamburg.
The rum blended in Flensburg then became a secondary industry in West Indian trade, and as of 1864 no longer with the Danish West Indies, but rather with Jamaica, then ruled by the British. It was imported from there, blended, and sold all over Europe. There is nowadays only one active rum distillery in Flensburg, "A. H. Johannsen".
I'm glad there are so many people around who are so open-minded about all of this... as with all good things, it had me a slow, rough and tumble start once I got the idea. CJSFan's Introduction
Greetings all ye scabrous dogs, miscreants, and just plain humble pirates, I am CJSFan . Some of you may know me from other parts of the web, particularly KTTC or POTC Wiki(depending where ye've looked). And here's my legend and lore about me history with POTC and Captain Jack:
http://www.keeptothecode.com/bboard/viewtopic.php?t=19940
I could've written it, but no bloody way I'm writing the whole thing again ...even with the Copy and Paste tactic. But to get to the basics of my introduction...
I'm currently one of the admin/bureaucrats of POTC Wiki, and have enjoyed putting all the info in there so far for the past year and a half(mostly because I had some "inside help", as it were ). Yea, I'm that geeky over this franchise.
Right now, depending on how kindly fate treats me, I do plan on putting a Captain Jack costume together in the unknown future...though I don't really deserve such a title yet(I only have a tricorne, a compass and a trusty cutlass).
Anything else you want to know, just ask . I hope to be of great service while I'm here.

Re: Welcome to the Brethren Court
Thanks very much so far.
Topic on KTTC is now closed; if it's true that the wench who did it could be in fact JC himself (as was suggested to me by another fellow pirate), then it's no wonder and almost exactly what I expected. Now I'm quite certain I won't be hearing from him anytime soon, if ever again. What a bummer.

Re: Welcome to the Brethren Court
Aye, thank ye both !
ETA: I just noticed that your signature was one I used back in the old OST days...funny ol' world, isn't it?
Yea, I thought I should come as it usually feels grand to be with fellow pirates. And as The Brethren Court is kinda like KTTC, I thought "Why not?" .capt.J.j.sparrow wrote:I'm glad we convinced you to come aboard!

Re: Welcome to the Brethren Court
Hey SHJack,
welcome aboard! Another fan from Germany, yo ho!! Will send you a PM... It's a luck to have you here as not much German Sparrows are floating on the sea these days...
So stay tuned and looking forward to hear from you on this forum! It's really a shame that your $400 seem to be lost due to pillaging and plundering by this shameless pirate... Hope you will get either the wig or the money refund, though....
All the best
Tom

Re: Welcome to the Brethren Court
Thanks Tom, I'm gonna get to you later friend.
Aye Mojo, I know that. Daisy (if that's her real name) sent me a PM just for the record, and I for myself had really no doubt about it.
The statement she and JC could be the same was based on a misunderstanding of another statement from another person. Soo confusing.
I gave her my apologies already and am sorry if I was offending anyone, which wasn't my intention.

oh no offence here, Mate - TBC is a much more... uh... forgiving breed
Permission to come aboard!
Hello, new mate here! real name is Harvey and I hail fom San Antonio, I'm a gunsmith by trade and work at one of the largest gun shops in the area.
Though too old to ever be a "Capt'n Jack", I do enjoy the movies very much and historical aspects even more. Currently I'm building a pistol that will be close to Jack's....actually trying to work the bugs out and get a good pattern for the stock.....which I can have duplicated once I'm happy with it and then can build something closer.
Been casting about the WWW searching for information about the now famous Perry pistol and have amassed a good collection of photo's....found this site during that search and had been registered and visited some, but recently was forced to walk the plank. ..however, up is down and I have a second chance!
I may not post much, but will help in any way I can. I am still trying to get as much information about the actual Perry pistol as possible.
Nice to be out of the locker and feel the salt spray again!

Re: Welcome to the Brethren Court
Just read through your story on KTTC...
Yea, in all the years that I've used gmail, I have never had an issue with sending out emails. "On my side", phht...total BS right there.
Sorry to hear about your troubles with that guy. I wish we could have had the chance to warn you about 'im before you learned the hard way. But your story is another nail in his coffin, now the trick is...how do we get him in it?

Hi Everyone!
I'm just stopping by to say Hi! A lot of stuff is happening but not related to POTC or Jack. I designed my Jack's Girl costume last summer and working on the finishing touches of my alternative Angelica which doesn't look like any of the concept drawings...just something I thought would look okay on me:) Ronnie's busy doin' his thing and gearing up for a new project here soon! Watch for Ronnie in March! He will be in Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie as Diamond Jim...he has a big kissing scene with Erica Durance! And then, 21 Jump Street! Oh, and if any of you watch "Check it out! with Dr. Steve Bruel", the 2012 season with feature Ronnie being interviewed by John C. Reilly! I think this show is on Cartoon Network - Adult Swim. Anyway, miss chatting with you guys either hear or on the other website. I would love to here how everyone is doing TC Jewels
