Re: The Brethren Court OST Review Thread!
Well, I won't go into detail about my thoughts on the film just now, but the primary reason for that is that Aelynn already has. I pretty much agree with everything she has said (mostly). However, I would personally rank the films thusly:
CotBP
DMC
OST
AWE
Though I would have to say that the gap between OST and AWE is much, MUCH larger than that between DMC and OST, in my opinion.

ok, so what's going on in this picture... I want to say I saw the top picture in the movie....
and that's supposed to be Ponce De Leon's boat way up tippy top, right?

Re: The Brethren Court OST Review Thread!
Huh. That's really odd. I'm guessing it's probably just a matter of them putting the finishing touches on it before it went into the final film. Maybe they felt they had to repaint the background in order that the ship would read better to the audience?
Re: The Brethren Court OST Review Thread!
CMc... that is SO weird.
It was definitely the top one 'cause I found myself thinking how was it even moving in the first place... it looks like it's stuck in there pretty good.
The whole balancing thing makes a boatload ( haha ) more sense with the second photo though... it's changes like these that baffle me.

Re: The Brethren Court OST Review Thread!
I arrived at the theater early, stood in line, and got a center seat for best 3D. I could tell the effects. This really showed with Jack escaping from the Spanish when their hats went flying, the coals during the London escape, Jack the monkey swinging, BlackBeard's hand at the end, the mermaids, and any sword pinted at the camera. I actually jumped at one point due to the 3D. With that being said it was too dark for 3D. The glasses add a darker shades to and it was hard to tell what was going on sometimes. Was it worth it? Yes. Do you have to see it in 3D? No. I will be going back tomorrow to see it in 2D. Is it my favorite? No, it is still COTBP. I agree with above that even after 2 hours the movie seemed rushed and cut in areas. I am super pissed about the ring. I know this is new start and not wanting to refer back to the previous 3 but that would of tied things nicely for the fans who have seen all. I wasn't too thrilled about the Jack/Gibbs ending. The rest we can talk about in the chat. I give it 7.5-8.5.
Thanks!
Greg
The new Transformers trailer at the beginning kicked booty in 3D. If the movie 3D effect is the same as the trailer I cannot wait. The lighting was so much better than OST.

Re: The Brethren Court OST Review Thread!
My OST Midnight experience was far better than anything I could have ever expected! I had the chance to watch it through the eyes of a very special little girl. Her name is Isabella, Bella for short. Most all the Jack Sparrowing I do is for charity, and I was doing a fundraiser a few weeks back and met a man who's 6 year old daughter was born with Lawson's Syndrome. Over the past 6 years she has had 7 surgeries. Everything from straightening her legs to fusing some vertibrea in her lower back and base of neck. Anyways her Dad told me all about Bella and how she loved Captain Jack Sparrow, but was unable to make the fundraiser to meet him because she had fever, and all that she wanted was to go to the midnight showing of OST. He took a photo of me to show her and left. ( Jump ahead 4 weeks to the midnight showing.) I am standing in the lobby of the theater waiting to enter at 11:00 pm I am the only Jack there ( which I figured I would be and who do I see getting his tickets from Fandango,..Bella's dad. I asked him if Bella was there, he said she was waiting in the car because she can not stand very long, and would bring her in when people where allowed to enter the theater and sit. ( All of a sudden this idea hit me ) I asked him how Bella would like to sit with Captain Jack Sparrow, " She would love it !!" he said but would not tell her till she was in the theater. I convinced him to let me tell her. I waited for them to enter the lobby and when she saw me she had this huge smile and waved at me. I knelt down to greet her and she said, "Oh my, what are you doing here??" I said I was awaiting the arrival of someone very important to watch the movie with, then I told her it was her. Lets just say she was very happy, and I had lots of whispered questions during the movie. I had the chance to go back the next day and pay more attention to what I missed! If given the chance I would love to watch it with Bella again, I could probably give her better answers to some of her whispered questions like why those mermaids were so mean, and not nice like Ariel!

so what do you think happened....
Syrena killed Phillip? Or healed him? Do they live together beneath the sea? Or did she consume his carcass?

I would assume the "nice" answer would be that she turned him into a mermaidmanmaidman, but I'd like to think she ate his face.

Hey sometimes you are doing someone a favor by killing them. Perhaps she sent him to heaven?

uh, . .. . she dragged him down. I can think of a couple of people I'd like to do a favor for...
Re: The Brethren Court OST Review Thread!
oi fish face! My wife caught an egregious error.... Jack wakes up on the QAR and the camera is tight on his ZF and bandanna (it's on the "correct" side) but when he flips out and lands on the floor... Reversed image! Watch for it!
Images in OST that are familiar to POTC fans
Jack sword fighting on rafter boards (with Angelica and Will)
Jack with heavy rope around his midsection tied to a post (OST and DMC)
Jack swinging around soldiers with riffles on a rope (OST and COTBP)
It's like they asked fans "what are you're favorite most memorable scenes" and they put them in as subliminal triggers.

and like most of the movies in the franchise, he only wears his hat and jacket at the beginning.
Re: The Brethren Court OST Review Thread!
an OST review from a 5 year old...
“It was about Pirates, Soldiers and Mermaids and Zombies, but there were just two Zombies. It’s about good guys fighting bad guys. The good guy is Captain Jack Sparrow, the bad guy is Blackbeard. They are trying to get some water from the Fountain of Youth. To get there they have to go into a spooky cave. One of the Pirates tries to kiss a Mermaid but when he gets closer her teeth get sharper, then more Mermaids come and their teeth get sharper. When the Mermaids attacked the Pirates, this was the scariest part. One Mermaid gets stabbed in the tail and the Pirates escape to land. The Mermaid who gets stabbed in the tail is good. The movie was too long even though when we came home it was still light. The best thing about the whole movie was the skull drink bottle and Pirates treasure box with popcorn.”
