Now. they're around $150. Are they worth the buck?

I get asked this question on other boards as well.... "are they worth it..." Worth has only value to you and what you can afford. Since none of us probably know this vendor (since he is your friend) only you can be the best judge to worth and value.

Considering how much other boots cost - they could very well be worth it.

They look good - they are a reasonable price.

Recently I saw someone else's homemade boots and they were made by a novice bootmaker and the first thing I saw was "glue lines" around the seams and a great big glue stain on the front of the boot. Now, I don't know how much this guy paid for his boots - but he paid the price for being the guinea pig on this pair in my opinion and I know how much he loves having "everything just right." So I feel bad that he didn't get more professional made boots.

But it sounds like he loves his boots and if he does then they are worth it to him, and that's all that matters.

I must admit, I'm pretty impressed with the overall look of these! They're not perfect, but they're darn close - especially for the money. They're certainly leagues better than a lot of the other boot mods I've seen. Tell me: does he make them from scratch, or does he somehow build them on top of an existing boot?

I don't how he makes them, or what they're made of. But I'll ask and keep you guys up to date. Very Happy

BTW he also makes a badass wodden pistol thats pretty afordable.

No pictures of the pistol as of yet. But I have found out that the boots are made of seude. He wont tell me how he makes them though.heave ho those trade secrets Sad

I'd love to get more info on turnaround time, and if he'd be willing to accept Paypal.... I noticed the listing on that only accepts cards and stuff. But if he can make em in a size 13UK/14US, I'd certainly be interested.

My wife translated as much as she could since she speaks Spanish and it's pretty close to Portuguese. It appears that he needs measurements from each customer. The part we couldn't tell is what he needs measured exactly. Probably length and width, but I'm wondering if he wants foot tracing like other custom boot makers do.

So I finally got to see the stuff today. The boots are actually really good, No boot straps are needed the boot cuffs(?) stay in place.

But the Gun looked really AWEsome, it was nice and heavy, felt like the real thing. It looked kinda like the rubber stunt pistol Mojo posted earlierhere. Because it was a kinda dark brown color but not as dark as the MR. But didn't have any moveable parts Neutral

and it isn't as cheap as I originally thought...$240 Evil or Very Mad

But still I'm gonna save my pennies and get at least the boots. If anyone is interested PM me and I'll email you pics of the pistol.

Can you offer any advice on ordering from this vendor? What measurements does he actually need? Any way to order from him direct without going through the auction site??

Well in all honesty I don't know if I would pay $240 for said Pistola! The paint is off the edges, the dark lines on the fire mechanism looks a little cheesy, and the stock definitely doesn't have a wood look to it.

The barrel assembly looks good......

Just don't know if it is worth the $240 though..................

So I got a reply for "Maryane", the Brazilian bootmaker, who says the boots would cost $280 including shipping to the UK. That would mean $130 just for shipping - almost as much as the boots themselves. Does that seem odd to anyone else?
