Stretching boots

Hey guys, so I was thinking of stretching my boots. My shafts are too short. I was thinking of wetting the leather/suede and trying to stretch them some more to gain a few more inches in shaft height. Has anyone tried this kind of thing before and have any tips?

That will most likely not work. When I first saw the post, I thought you meant stretching circumference wise (as if for large calves), and that is doable. What you're thinking, no. In order to get what you want, you may have to purchase more leather, cut the boot (under the bell, where it is not seen) and add the extra height that way. Leather simply does not stretch that way.
