Cosplaysky OST waistcoat conversion
Hi
Sme of you may have seen on another thread that a few of us have been looking at the Cosplaysky's OST waistcoat as the alternatives are very expensive. I finally decieded to take the plunge and buy one of these and see if it's any good. I ordered one from the UK site for £41.99 plus postage. It only took a couple of weeks to get to me and this is what I got:-
These were the buttons and trim on it
Notice that the gold is in fact brown and a flock type of material rather than embroidered
The back looks like this
All in all not too bad, it's a bit shiny, the neck shape is wrong, the back is wrong and the buttons and trim need changing.
So I ordered new buttons from Simon, 3m of 3mm champagne trim and a can of dirty down and got to work. This is what I have now:-
New buttons and trim
Neck restyled
For the back, because I'm no seamstress I bought a double ended laundry pen, one end has a thick tip whilst the other a fine tip. I drew on the lines and then used dirty down to darken the back, I'm reasonably chuffed with it.
Whilst not perfect, I thick it passes casual muster, what do you all think?

Well done on the modifications! You may want to add the back tie/tabs to the vest. This is pretty easy to do and a very small modification, but I think it's a nice added detail.
