ost without the waistcoat

I'm debating on selling my OST painted waistcoat, It doesn't fit me right and with a little modification maybe the new one I'm getting will be better, but I wonder if I could get away with OST without the embroidered waistcoat? I'll never be able to afford SM's or Acme's so, what do you guys think?

"Regular" people will never notice, you'll actually look more pirate-ish with the old waistcoat. Both waistcoats have the same front color, same back and same pattern, so that's a plus. But you know that all Jacks will notice. Most importantly YOU will notice, and I'm sure it will bug you all the time, so you should decide if you could live with that.
You could be a Jack in transition between AWE and OST? You know, like he made his new dreads, but still haven't stolen that new waistcoat.

I think Empire is selling the OST fabric only, maby if you could negotiate with him?
