Re: My costume so far
Hi
Me again!, as you may know I have ordered a new waistcoat and breeches from Yordreem to replace my costume base ones. I ordered them in September but was told by Scott that they may take some time as he is very busy. I did mention that I needed them by New Year's Eve and he promised to try to get them to me by then but as time moves on I'm concerned that this may not happen. Now that's fine, he did tell me that it may not happen and I'm cool with that but I am thinking of trying to make my CB ones a little better as the next best thing. I have ordered dark grey dye for the breeches and this is easy to do but I'm not sure how to dye the waistcoat without taking it apart! I have ordered some Dylon hand dye in blue denim but as I don't want to dye the back blue can I sponge on the dye to the front? If not does anyone have any tips in how to darken the very pale blue of the CB waistcoat?
Thanks all
Martin

I would try to use matte black spraypaint. "Mist" it all over the front and after that, I would darken the edges and some "spots" for giving it the "weathered, dirty" look.

Re: My costume so far
New pictures:-
More weight lost, now 14stone 6 so happy about that. Not sure that my new waistcoat will be here for my party at the new year so dyed my old costume base one a darker blue as a tied-me-over until my new one arrives. Beard now fully grown and makeup applied.
Left to do:-
New waistcoat and breeches
New leather scabbard on way
Loose more weight (at least another stone)

Re: My costume so far
First outing as Jack tonight for out new year party,
Wig slippage a problem
Boots hurt, need thicker socks.
Need to work on Jacks walk and voice
Would be better if my back hadn't gone just before Xmas
Everyone was very complimentary of my costume however

Great photo! Doing this is much more fun when you can get other members of your family involved. Then they kind of come to an understanding of all that we go through to get things to look right.

Yeah, started out life as the Disney toy, but I followed the tutorial and I think it looks good.

Looking good, Captain!
I've often wondered, does Yordreem breeches have pockets?
