My COTBP Captain Jack Sparrow build
I have been doing this build over a many months so I apologise in advance as this is going to be alot of posts in a short space of time, but here goes.
Bought one of the skull rings of ebay. It doesn't look bad to me, the stone is a bit big but I'm thinking most people wont notice. Hope to get a better one at a later date, but this should do the job for now.

For my waist coat I bought one of the sithworld/Empire-worldwide ones and swapped over the buttons for the silversmith ones.
I also bought a sash from them.

Re: My COTBP Captain Jack Sparrow build
I decided to have ago at putting together my own wig.
After looking into the different ways to make dredds and I decided to make mine from wool roving.
This is what it looks like when you first get it. I got some brown but it comes in lots of colours.
You will need a old towel as it does get quite wet.
You start by spraying the wool with soapy water, then using the palm of your hand roll the wool back and forwards on the towel like you rolling out a sausage. If the wool dries out just keep spraying it with the soapy water, it helps the fibers knit together.
I did lengths twice the size I wanted, then you just fold them in half and you have 2 dredds.
I made 14 dredds to add to my wig. Here they are, next step is to dye them.

Re: My COTBP Captain Jack Sparrow build
I dyed the dredds with a dark brown hair dye and after they had dried I tied them into my wig.
I didn't add too many as I know he has less dredds in the first film than he does in the later ones.

Found on ebay a kuchi belly dancing pendant, it needed a few tweeks but I thiought it looked close.
I had to cut the links remove the old dangles, replace them with the new ones then solder all the joints.

Re: My COTBP Captain Jack Sparrow build
Now in the other films Jacks palm glove is a dark brown leather, but in COTBP his palm glove seems to be alot lighter.
So I used the other side of the leather to make my palm glove

I added the plait to the back of the wig, tied in the three good luck coins and wraped it with leather cord.

Re: My COTBP Captain Jack Sparrow build
Ok next up for me to sort was Jacks chin braids.
I noticed Primark were selling packs of clip in hair pieces and that the pack contained two small pieces.
I noticed that one of his braids is longer and thicker than the other, so with that in mind I set about making plaits.
I left them long so I have plenty to work with and I will cut them to size once they have beads on. For the beads I have found these.

Re: My COTBP Captain Jack Sparrow build
I decided to wrap the scabard it in dark brown leather as I felt that would look alot better than painting it.
After cutting the leather to the right size I pulled it round and stitched it with the seam going up the back of the scabbard.
After the scabbard was wrapped I then burnished the seams flat.
So thats the sword and scabbard done
So thats where I'm up to now, I plan to sort out my baldric next.
