Yea I had thought about doing that it would probably work just fine or one of the trade pistols would still probably be cheaper also you do to the etching like in that metal zizzel build

The only problem with modding a functional pistol would be the barrel. You can grind down the barrel of a Denix pistol, but on a functional flintlock you probably should steer away from modifying the barrel in any way.

The best way would be to get a kit they have some for aroun 200 or so and you could swap for a octagonal to round one from the seller I bet that might work

Good thought! The bugger of it is though that Jack's barrel goes from octagonal to round about a third of the way down, separated by a "wedding band". But there may be someone out there with this general type of barrel.

When I was thinking about doing this very same thing, I was looking at either the Ketland Trade pistol of the light dragoon pistol at Pirate Trading Co.

The Ketland has the right shape, but the barrel is brass. I was going to try silver plating it with one of those pens, giving it a darker stain and adding the rest of the hardware from York County Firelocks.

The dragoon pistol has a silver barrel, but the butt would need reshaping and overall it's a little bulkier.

Either one would work for conversion. But then Jeff came out with the CJS pistol, and taking into consideration the additional cost of the silver parts from York Co and the time involved, I just opted for that.

Here's my finished pistol I finally got around to finishing it. I fully fille all the gaps and hole that were there did the engraving and sanded the thin down so it shines now so it's all metal and wood [img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Man-oh-man... I want one! I'm actually taking kind of a break from Jack lately, but boy, that's a tempting mod. If I really had the time and energy (and money) to pour into something like that, I'd probably go for it myself. That looks SWEET.

How easy was it to Dremel down the barrel? I have a similar Denix that I was thinking of doing the same thing but didn't know how easy it was to Dremel and shape.

Well it takes some work be careful not to go to deep that's the harder part you don't want holes in the barrel lol
