My OST Strumpet Jack Costume (WIP#2)
Okay this is my project for the NorCal Pirate Fest. It's not til June so I have a little more time to get it finished.
Anyways, I have this for the corset
this for the skirt ( it matches the thread color of the vest)
For this look:
And this for a bustle sash
For this look:
I'll use the same suede boots that I'm buying for the ATC costume.
I'm just not sure what type of hat to go with...???
Leather tricorn? Or, fancy felt tricorn?
Hopefully the end result will be very strumpetish!

Re: My OST Strumpet Jack Costume (WIP#2)
Uh... this is going to drop dead awesome! Whose fabric is that?
Re: My OST Strumpet Jack Costume (WIP#2)
Thanks Mojo.
Its Acme vest fabric and sash fabric. He sent me one large piece versus 2 long sash pieces.
I really hope it turns out well. *crosses fingers*
I'm saving $$ for some of SMW's vest fabric also to go with the Acme OST vest fab corset
as a detachable bustle.
So I'll have 2 OST inspired looks.
The coat I bought from BitL last year is big for me, but I plan to incorporate it somehow into this costume...I hope it's overcast that weekend, and not too hot!

Haha, okay, so maybe that wasn't absolutely clear. He's a Jack who used to hang around on KttC. Hasn't shown his face in a while though, for some reason. Which is a bummer, 'cause he was a nice bloke.
And by the by, just to keep a little on topic here, this costume idea seems really fun! I can't wait to see where you go with it!

Wow! Thanks for all the nice comments! I hope this costume will live up to all your expectations!
I still have to put the Simon buttons on the coat...it's on my "To Do" list!

Re: My OST Strumpet Jack Costume (WIP#2)
Hi Jack'sGirl!
Thank you so much! I was just talking to Michelle tonight from DitD
about having her make this:
Top OST fabric, bottom Jack sash, or the other way around still utilizing the sash fabric as a bustle.
My overskirt...not sure either. I found that material that matches the thread of the vest fabric but it's heavy.
I then thought maybe the back of jacks vest fabric may look okay...? I honestly don't know what I'll use!
I'm suppose to be sending the fabric out tomorrow, maybe I'll figure something out in the meantime!
I cant wait to see your finished look!! From what I have seen...its really lovely and original, Jewels! You should start a thread and showcase your costume!!
And I'm excited you and Ron decided to go again this year to NORCAL! Its going to be fun!!

Sparrowed - Thank you! I love your ideas! You are going to rock! As far as my own post??? Scary thought lov! I just got word that we may have tickets to the premiere!!! We will see, normally, the extra tickets to the producers’ wives/husbands and they hand them out to their family and friends! lol.
Capn_Jack_Savvy – Yes! Ronnie is so much better than me using the sewing machine! We just bought a new machine, so now we can sew together! We, not really, Ronnie leaves tomorrow for New Orleans to work on 21J. Maybe he can give JD a shout-out for us aye?

Re: My OST Strumpet Jack Costume (WIP#2)
I just rec'd the gorgeous fabric from SMW. Thank ye Scott!
I'll be using this for my second strumpet outfit. A plain corset and bustle...
I want to use the vest scraps as ruching trim to achieve a hat result like this:
