Waistcoat back fabric source?

Hey mates,

does anybody know the source for the real deal waistcoat back fabric? Someone posted this pic some time ago over KTTC, but seems this person never released the information...

Yes, that's the real deal fabric. Don't know who posted that at KTTC at that time, but this person knew the source, but didn't make it public.

Anyway, Cristian took a photo of the screenused fabric (Cristian, hope it's ok to post it, otherwise I'll delete it):


I noticed that the only difference is the addition of this zigzag pattern. Otherwise, it's the same.

By the way, I'm just talking about the AWE waistcoat back there - don't know the details of the OST vest, which doesn't interest me (sorry, I'm not a OST look pirate )

I've actually asked Scott of SM Pillowfort, who has THE EXACT pattern fabric. Unfortunately, while he does use it for making his own brand waistcoats, he's not partial to selling the fabric on it's own. However, he's offered me some "close-enough" fabrics to choose from. I'm expecting some pics of said fabrics soon enough. I don't know if he'll be making those publicly available or if the supply is limited though. :S

From what I saw, his back fabric is NOT the exact one used in the movies. Close, but not exact. Too bad this bloody fabric remains unknown so far...

Has anyone offered a clue to the material? Is it linen, cotton, wool, etc?

Actually the original picture was linked over at KTTC as being THE fabric swatch used for JDs costume. It isn't an actual piece of "found" material but one from the movie.......so in theory we still haven't identified it nor has anyone skimped on letting us know where they got it from.

I had the back vest fabric that came with my OST vest kit from Acme. From what I can recall, it looked just like the pic above. I didn't know it was such a difficult find, I would have posted pics!
Anyways I sent it to Callmemilo for his vest. Maybe he'll post pics?
