It's a book about the holy grail , but it looks like the OST chalice to me.

I've been doing some researching for good reference pics of famous chalices so I can try to copy the FOY/BB's chalice.


The OST FOY Chalice seems to be modeled after
the "Chalice of the Patriarchs" from the treasury at St Mark’s,
Venice dating to the tenth or 11th century, and comprises a 
hemispherical cup carved from a single translucent piece of 
red sardonyx mounted in silver gilt."

I purchased these goblets from eBay which I plan to modify by cutting each one using those pieces to make my version of the FOY chalice, using an onyx bowl as the cup.
This is what I have so far...

Well that was the plan, however the silver goblets I've been buying are too small to do anything with. My next option is to build it and cast it....which I've semi started.

So I found the OST Visual Guide at my local book store, and it had this to say about the chalice --

From the Imageshak picture you can see that the Agua De Vida were custom made. Heck! For all we know Tony Swatton at Sword and Stone could have made them!! He is a blacksmith after all! (No he is a pirate.........errr.........Viking?)

You can see the weld beads / lines on the base and goblet portion of the cup. It appears like Sparrowed stated an onyx or even agate bowl but definitely polished stone with metal frame built around it. If you had some basic welding skills you could use tin or aluminum to build it around onyx or agate bowl...! Buggah! The challenge has been set! But after the movie comes out, Kay?

That would be an awesome prop to make. Maybe the Yahtzee cups could be a start and modded. I don't know if the Yahtzee chalices match in size though. Anyone buy it and receive it just yet?

I have handled the yahtzee chalice, and it seems to be of correct size. It is plastic though and lacks the marbled and metal effect. not shiny.

It's also made from a mold that causes it to have a hole all the way through the center - it does not hold water.

UM, if you are planning on making the Aqua De Vida Chalice, it would require a lot of time and effort - and $$. Please refer to my last post and click the spoiler before you embark on this journey for some clarification on the "Aqua" and "de Vida"m savvy?

I'm in absolutely! I'm more interested in making this than my wench costume (although my costume is being made for me)
