Jack sparrow AWE wig (Homemade) PIC HEAVY
Obviously I'm new here. I noticed some people on RPF discussing this forum so I figured I'd come say hel...(ahem) Ahoy!
Working on my 6th Halloween as Cap'n Jack and decided to step it up this year.
In 2011 I made this wig with a super low budget of $40 (pic ▼)
The wig I'm working on this year is approaching $90 including the SA bandana. So still low budget but not $40 low. (pix ▼)

Your baldric buckle in the first pics looks like the buckle on Angelica's belt. Am I right? Who'd you get that from? I like the look of it as a baldric buckle.
Wig looks pretty good. I think there is more variation in dreadlock length in Jack Sparrow's wig though. Just might be something you want to consider. At least I think there is more variation in the AWE look, but that is just what I saw. Someone else here will probably have something else to say though.
I took some screen shots you can see here, here, and here.

When I initially bought the wig I planned on doing an OST version, hence the light color but after some consideration I decided to go with the AWE style. I see what your saying regarding the length but when its on me they really do appear to be of mixed length and the back actually does go pretty low.
And YES that IS the Angelica waist buckle, good eye. Its actually a cheap vac-u-form piece from the Disney licensed Angelica costume. My wife didn't like it on her costume so i re-purposed it LOL.

Thank you. Worked fairly hard on it, especially for something I only wear once a year.Mojo Turbo wrote:looks pretty cool - good job
I appreciate that! While technically not my first attempt, it was my first attempt that actual thought and effort went into.CommadoreKyle wrote:looks good better than my first attempt at least

I like your wrist wrap a lot. It turned out really good! I need to get a DMC/AWE wristwrap

Funny you mention the sash being tied weird cause after looking at the pic that's the first thing I said...
