Does anyone know this "French company" who made the boots for first movie? Never heard of it before... I somehow liked the style and look of the boots from part 1 and would be interested to know if this company would still make boots. Especially as I'm from Europe, I could purchase these without paying a bunch of customs charges etc....

I'll be curious to see pics of these when you get them. To my eye they look like they are built overtop an existing boot (based on the shape of the shaft). However it's too hard to say for certain from the pics and even if they are they still look quite nice so I don't think it really matters...

My first boots were made overtop of existing Wellington style boots, and worked quite well until I decided to get the CABoots. For me though, it was the fact that I do other events as other characters for whom the boots also work out (non-Jack pirate, Renaissance gigs, the occasional musketeer, etc).

I do not know if he uses a existing shoe and build overtop the shoe I'll see that when they arrived , however I do have a friend in Holland that has these boots aswell , I can ask him to make a picture of the inside of the boots...

I aswell was having issues with my Caboots. I called, left a message, no returned call. I called yesterday morning and Joey answered the phone. He told me to take pictures of the boots and send them to his email. So I did right away and he responded that that should NOT happen and to keep these and he is going to make a new pair for me for free!!! YAY Joey! Hopefully this next pair will be good. Can't wait!

Huh. Well it seems you've had leagues better luck with them than I did. They certainly NEVER offered to give me ANYTHING for free except shipping, which they're now basically renegging on.

Yeah, they finished the new boots, and I received them the second weekend of the festival. They fit great, but they literally did not include a SINGLE one of my custom specs in the final product. In other words, they sent me stock boots and tried to tell me they were customs. I called them out on this, and now they're saying that they'll refund me the difference between the stock boots I got and the custom boots I ordered, but in order to do that I'll have to reimburse them for the shipping they've paid for up to this point. In my opinion this is total bollocks, because had it not been for THEIR mistake, I never would have had to send them back in the first place. I cannot express just how deeply I HATE this company, and every single jerk in it.

I'm sorry McCool. That ain't proper in me eyes! It is in fact an abomination!
What happened to my pair of Caboots was I only had them for 3 months and only worn them 3 times. The back seam was coming unraveled and the inside of the boot was appearing outside the boot.....savvy? Along with the heal pealing up, like it was coming apart. I was MAD! I spent alot of money on the darn things, they should've at least spent quality time making them right.
Anyways, right now.....Just playing the waiting game. I wonder how long it will take this time? The first time it was 6 weeks.
It could be it's because I'm a girl that he was nice to me. Who knows. I had a friend that wasn't getting the items he payed for and it was longer than a month he was waiting. He emailed the Bildge Rat and wouldn't get a response......so, I stepped in and emailed the guy saying I hear tell rumors he has been takin' money from some of my buddies and they haven't recieved. The guy automatically responded and took care of his business. I guess sometimes a Lady Pirate just needs to get involved in solving certain issues.

Captain McCool, that sucks so bad man!!! I feel really really sorry for you. I know how this kind of situation feels mate. After all the waiting you still didn't get what you wanted. I don't understand why they haven't made the boots according to the specs given.

Did they even place that seam you wanted down the back of your boots? I was having a brain storm though mate and was thinking, to achieve that seam would it be possible to recreate it ourselves or get some kind of leatherworker to do it, by adding some extra leather onto the back seam?? What do ya reckon?

i order brown ones from caboots and i had no problem with mine..im 5'9 (an inch shorter than depp) and mine fit nice..i just got the stock ones..i didnt really care too much for any square toe..the stock toe look fine to me! here are my boot pics! you may need to maximize the screen to see the whole pictures!

Well I'm glad your experience was not the total nightmare it was for me (and some others).

It would appear that when one orders the stock boots there is rarely a problem. My experience with this company is that they only get really horrible when you pay extra for custom work.

In the end, I paid for a pair of custom boots and ended up with a pair of stock boots anyway. After the misery I went through I truly wish this company's warehouse would catch fire and ruin the business forever.

Hmm, a thought just occurred to me: I wonder what they would do if you ordered a stock pair and a custom pair in the same order, see if they try to pull a fast one on ya. If I ever have an extra $800 (custom is roughly $500 with all the proper mods, right?) lying around I might just do that, lol. Then just sell the stock pair on ebay or something.
