How will you see OST for the first time?
Re: On Stranger Tides Discussion
None of it looks usable to me, if I'm honest. And though the stolen ring looks nice enough, I suspect this will all be to kid-scale.

OST Crosses
Mojo wanted a picture of Phillip's bible and I just noticed that the impression in his leather bible jacket cover is identical to that of Angelica's cross that hangs around her neck!!! I think the prop shop was cutting corners!!!!!

Unless....
- Spoiler:
- the Bible came from the convent Angelica was at...?
Re: On Stranger Tides Discussion
Ooh sparrowed good theory! That's one of those subtle details that they may weave through future installments like the ring and sword and compass. Seemingly insignificant but very important. Would be a very interesting tie between two new characters!

- Spoiler:
- that could be "why" Blackbeard spared Phillip, at Angelica's request to do so because perhaps she knew him from the convent. Too bad he's at the bottom of sea with Syrena.

On Stranger Tides
Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penélope Cruz), he's not sure if it's love-or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the "Queen Anne's Revenge," the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past.
Re: On Stranger Tides Discussion
I didn't like seeing it in 3D, so I will be seeing it again in good ol fashioned 2D the way the good Lord intended
Re: On Stranger Tides Discussion
I saw it in IMAX 3D. It looked good, but it was soooooo loud, I had the worst headache when I left.
There's a little theater that has sofas, cocktail tables w/ swivel chairs. They serve pizza, burgers all sorts goodies, BEER and wine. It's showing OST, so I'm off with some friends to watch it there, relax with my feet up and enjoy it with a cold one in regular vision.

Re: On Stranger Tides Discussion
The midnight showing I saw on the normal screen. Saw it last night in IMAX 3-D. I have to say, I prefer the regular version. I'm not a big 3-D fan to begin with anyway, but I didn't particularly think the 3-D brought anything extra to the table for this movie. The IMAX element was nice, though. Color me old-school!

Re: On Stranger Tides Discussion
Okay, so I saw it in regular Disney 3D at the pre-screening, and then on opening night I saw it in IMAX 3D, and I have to say... I actually liked it.
Mind you, normally I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE 3D movies, but I thought this one worked quite well. However, the reason I thought that probably had to do with the fact that the 3D was very subtle - nigh on completely unnoticable in some parts. So ultimately, as has been said above and elsewhere, it really didn't add anything to the final film. Still, I don't feel it detracted from it either.

Re: On Stranger Tides Discussion
Is it just me, or does Syrena look like Juno? Also I thought Gemma Ward did really good, has she ever acted before?

Wow - that is amazing!! It even comes with the miniature ship in a bottle!! Makes me wish I had $250 to spend on something like that...
But if I had said $250 I would have a Queen Anne flintlock to go with my Pirate Trading Co. CJS pistol...
Still, it calls to me...
