Found what may possibly be a bit of the score??? Doesn't sound familiar to me from the other films...definitely has a bit of the old pirates sound in it. At the site for the Swarovski collection here.

A couple thoughts on tracks that stood out to me:

Really like the fast guitar in Angelica.

LOVE the call back to CotBP in 'Mutiny' !

The guitar songs sound VERY different and a bit out of place but I think will add the perfect unique touch to this new installment.

The mermaid tunes are sooo pretty...

Palm Tree Escape sounds classic pirates... and then suddenly sounds like the Alice in Wonderland theme... interesting...

End credits totally traditional with the PERFECT update of Spanish influence. Can't go wrong. I think it'll wrap up the movie perfectly.

...and the remixes just made me laugh. The Blackbeard one is kind of cool though.


Overall I'm not overwhelmed or underwhelmed. Just... whelmed.

It's cool but I don't think I'd buy it...though I've never really been one for OST ( original soundtracks ) anyways...

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Spanish guitar thrown into the classic "He's a Pirate" theme at the end! Overall I'm quite happy with what we're hearing so far!

Acclaimed film composer Hans Zimmer, who has crafted scores including the low-rumbling sousaphones on the 'Inception' soundtrack to the gothic dirges of 'The Dark Knight,' returns to the silver screen for 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' this summer.

Teaming up with guitarists Rodrigo y Gabriela, Zimmer sought a more Latin atmosphere for the newest 'Pirates' film. "We have Penélope Cruz playing Angelica, who's Spanish, so I felt that there could be some Latin influences in the score for 'On Stranger Tides,'" Zimmer said in a release.

Mermaids is very, very, eerie and ethereal!!!

Eleven true tracks from the movie but the rest are just remixes ala DJTsieto DMC style.

Filler! 11 tracks is small for an OST OST! I can't wait for the BluRay to come out so I can rip the music from the media and have a much longer OST....!

Agreed! Mayhaps you'll share said OST OST with other friendly pirates...? Hmmmmm?

Though they might release a special "extended" soundtrack eventually. A lot of films seem to have those.

Man... there were definitely tracks in the movie that weren't on the official soundtrack... and that really bums me out. They could've included the entire film soundtrack if they hadn't put all the damnable remixes on the thing. Here's hoping for an "extended" sooundtrack...

If Disney's marketing department has anything to do with it then it'll be released most likely as a "Limited Edition" soundtrack. Let the franchise milking begin! (or continue, depending on how you look at it) lol

But honestly, CD's are starting to taper off with a lot of people buying things from direct download. Which is unfortunate because most downloads aren't in a loss-less codec and you loose some of the quality. But then again, most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference on their inferior stereos and iPods lol.

Does anyone know how to get a hold of the The Complete Original Motion Picture Score of the full film soundtrack from On Stranger Tides. This music is all over youtube now. How are these people getting these tracks?

You can rip the movie from the DVD or Blu Ray and using certain programs strip out voices of the actors which only leaves the music track. I have all the sound from the movie but do not have the time to edit the voices out.

I got home from work today and I wanted to relax. I have not listened to the AWE soundtrack for quite some time, so I stuck it in the stereo,turned it up pretty loud, and put on "Drink up me Hearties". I started to cry.

I forgot how powerful and beautiful that song is. Does Hans Zimmers music move any of you fellow pirates like the way it does me? BE HONEST.
