OST "Sparrow" Tattoo

So, in the swamp/water picture of Jack and Angelica, Jack has his sleeve rolled up and you can see his tattoo. I put "sparrow" in quotes, because us "in the know" people know that the bird is a swallow, and not actually a sparrow. But if you rotate the picture (like I did) you will notice that those OST budget cuts I guess did not include re-creating the Jack tat, so Johnny is sporting his own "Jack" tattoo, with the swallow reversed, the wings filled in and what looks like black makeup over the word "Jack"

Yeah, I noticed that too. It almost looks like they used some kind of tattoo-cover makeup for the "Jack" part, but it bled in that scene after getting wet.

Incidentally, there's a great behind-the-scenes picture of Jack during the Locker scene from AWE where he's just in his shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, and you can see that the tattoo is Johnny's real one there as well, with the "Jack" covered by makeup.

Never fear my friends!

If you need that OST Sparrow tattoo look, then you can use my standard size JD temporary one and cut the 'Jack' off the bottom with scissors before applying so that you end up with the reversed bird and wave crest direction for the tattoo for that mOST excellent OST look!!!

Now this just raises the question: if I actually get the tattoo... should I do it "old" style, or "new" style? I think I'm inclined to have the sparrow flying towards me, rather than away. And now, well, it's screen accurate, sort of...

Actually mate, they arrived on FRIDAY! I was astonished.

If anybody is in the market for tatts, Jonts is the pirate to go to. I put one on Friday night, and it still (as of Sunday night) looks about the same as when I applied it.

In short, Jonts is THE MAN when it comes to Sparrow tatts!

I second that, Jonty is THEE last word in tats. My JD ones always get compliments and now Jack can be done by, like he said, slicing off the lower part. Thats bloody astounding that airmail was so fast!! still, got to hand it to both posties over here and thar yonder

Personally I'm glad I have the CotBP tattoo vs the new one. The outward sparrow is truly the JS tattoo in my opinion. Johnny had it reversed because it represents his son Jack and he wanted him to be flying home, not away. The make-up department did not deem it necessary to "correct" his tattoo in the new films, but I still think of out as JS, in as JD. And I don't want JD's tattoo, I want the captain's.
