Re: Zizzle mod
So...the knockoff-cheapo-pistol arrived today. I'm very disappointed. This version is really cheap and simply a toy.
Disassembling was no great problem, but the size is far too small. I'm not fat but it's difficult to pull the trigger with my finger. The tip of the barrel differs from the zizzle, too.
And the ornament on the bottom-side is completely missing. Also the engraving on the trigger-guard is missing, too.
And the ornament on the left side is very thin and flat and not well shaped. Tried the trick with the cotton bud and it worked acceptable... but I'm not happy with the whole look of that pistol.
Sanded it today and began with the paintjob... hoping for the best but expecting the worst... I will take some pics, when the pistol is finished...

Re: Zizzle mod
So... the paintjob is finished. I tried to achieve, that the plastic will look like wood and old, used metal...
I filled the holes for the screws, filled the loudspeaker holes and after removing the orange tip at the barrel, I had to use a grommet/washer to cover the tip. I tried to add some engravings, but for the "Perry"-logo there is not enough room/space on the sideplate ... so whatever ...I also tried to create some engravings on the triggerguard ... and the battery case is terrible and it´s nearly impossible to hide it ...
I´m not satisfied at all with this model, because the ornaments around the trigger guard are completely missing and the whole shape seems to be a bit too small...

Re: Zizzle mod
Thanks mate.
Regarding that it is only a plastic toy... I think it's way better now...

Re: Zizzle mod
Great post. Just ordered a pair of knock offs (sent to a UK friend who'll ship them to me). Will love to play around with these with some paint and filler. Thanks for the tips!

Re: Zizzle mod
still waiting on mine...but wondering if anyone has added additional weight to their zizzle mod -So it isn't so lightweight. Any ideas on how to do this?

Re: Zizzle mod
To add some weight, I took two thin metalplates and glued-in them inside the barrel.
Sadly that's more or less the only part of the pistol, where it was possible to use some space.
I wanted to put another plate in the middle of the pistol. Therefore I removed the electronic parts, but the metalplate was a little bit too big, so the two pistol halfs didn't fit together anymore.
Also tried to add weight in the handle, but the rounding destroyed this plan, too.
If you add any weight, you have to ensure, that it is really fixed and can stand some "typical movements" and playing around with the pistol...
But on the other hand: if you have to carry that pistol inside your sash, behind the belt for several hours; completely geared up as "Jack"... and the cutlass, too ... maybe it isn't that wrong, not adding any weight...?!

Re: Zizzle mod
Back years ago when I was modding zizzles for people on a weekly basis I would add weight to it by filling the entire body with a putty epoxy. It's kind of like a clay before it sets up. Just mix it together well and pack it into all the empty spaces, minding where the screws go so you can put it back together. If you want to make it even heavier, you can press old nuts and bolts, scrap metals into the putty and they stay put when it dries!

Re: Zizzle mod
Got my knock off pistols. I agree the plastic is thin. The scale seems small too for my hand, and my hands aren't very big. Probably because it is a toy. I love the wording and spelling on the packaging. Now I have a "unique nation style"...finally!
