costumebase belts?
Hi i am new in this forum and i have little question about costumebase's belts (http://www.ebay.com/itm/JACK-SPARROW-SUN-FLOWER-BALDRIC-Sword-Pirate-Belt-set-of-3-waist-belts-props-/120795761493?pt=US_Costumes&var=&hash=item1c1ffd0b55). How good that baldric is? And Sun and Flower belts, are they too weak to use? If anyone have those belts, please tell something about those. Thanks! (Sorry my bad english, i am from Finnland)

Re: costumebase belts?
Hello matey,
I was also interested in the belts and the baldric from costume base. That was last year summer. They deliver correctly - BUT the belts are too small and also the baldric!
The buckles are nearly half as big as they are in the movie. So the belts and the baldric look like gadgets for children.
The price is really cheap, but on the other hand it´s too expensive, because you are not going to be satisfied with the items if you are looking for screen-accurate versions.
Better take more money and accept a higher price, but with also screen-accurate measurements of the belts and the baldric.
Greetings from germany to finland

I think somebody had a pic on here with them next to other brands and the sizes are bigger than they should be but it just depend on what your budget is. But if you put new belts on them they would look much better

i have both sets...
ahoy! grettings from New York!
i started my costume with mostly costumebase stuff and after spending hard-earned money on that stuff, i came to realize that i should have just spent the money to begin with and bought ACME goods. the costumebase stuff has gotten a little better but it is no where near screen accurate, at least not the belts or baldric.
so yes, in response to earlier posts, save your money and buy the real deal. costumebase stuff is too small and cheap looking, and if youre going for a somewhat authentic jack, then steer clear!
i have an extra set of acme belts (no baldric), so pm if interested.
good luck mate!

Re: costumebase belts?
Agreed with the above posts. I've seen CB stuff in person and there seem to be a lot of Sparrows running around with their belts, though I can't imagine why.
But basically, even if the prices seem to be a bit exorbitant, just remember for the most part you get what you pay for. While ACME Brand items can be a bit on the expensive side, they will last you a LONG time and are screen accurate. Plus if you ever decide to stop being Jack Sparrow, the re-sell value on his items is far better than anything else. Sparrows are always looking for ACME brand stuff.

Re: costumebase belts?
The WIKI has information about the CB belts. I used em for my 5 year old's costume - because that's how big the buckles are

costumebase buckles
hello
I had the costumebase belts, and i agree that the buckles are too small and the material of the belt is just bad.. so now im trying to save some money and spend it on the acurate belts. Im still looking for the baldric buckle, (real size). if anyone here have one to sell i will be interested too.
thanks!

Re: costumebase belts?
For baldric or any type of buckles you want to contact ACME Brand on eBay
If you want the Sun buckle or (I think he's still selling..) an Anna Maria buckle, if you contact ButtonIt (his username on here), he would also be a good person to go to for Jack Sparrow items
