Belts, belts, belts...
So, I'm in the market to replace my Anna-Maria belt now that I have some extra treasure from selling a pair of Hellsing prop guns for quite a bit more than I paid for them. Was curious if anyone had any experience with the moviewardrobe/Anthony Z (I think) items. The belt is about $100 and seems to have the properly sized buckle, comes in the necessary length, stitching, and even the proper (strange) 5 button hole pattern. I was going to just make my own but given my lack of experience and tools with leather...I figure my leather strip would be about 35 at least (not a tandy member), plus 7-8 for dye, another 14 for shipping (tandy gets you on that, sad considering I live an hour away from their store), plus another 20 at least for the proper buckle...I'm almost at $100 with all that. I'm also not that great with leather dye and would be pretty irked if I had to ruin leather and throw away dye (again...), plus I have no leather hole puncher or tools to add the stitching around the edge. So mates, sound like a deal?

IMO, the Anthony Z buckle is a terrible recast. It's not clean at all. I have never seen one in person, nor do I know anyone who has it.
1. An ACME (the best you can get) is only $105 but it's going to be from OST, not that it would be noticeable to layman, but just an FYI

2. For the price I would go with an empire. It's only $99 and free shipping

You can clean the patina off when you get it and weather the belt (which is real leather now) and it will look pretty dang good. And right now if you get the belt from Empire, you get 4 free tattoos.

Awesome thanks, I did notice the Anthony Z looked pretty dirty but I couldn't tell if that was the buckle itself or just the image quality. I have the ACME sash and love the quality items they sell...but I really am going for an AWE costume and I feel I might be bothered without that 5 hole pattern the OST belt lacks...I was under the impression Empire Worldwide wasn't the greatest seller, has that changed? Or do they just make a nice belt? Don't think I'll need the temp tattoos tho, I have a real one for that XD

I would go with Acme, mate - too many threads asking about anthonyz or empire. Everyone who's had Acme this or that has no complaints, while the rest...well...yeah.
Re: Belts, belts, belts...
a while back a young lady bought some of the empire belts for her husband and she posted a bunch of pics on KTTC. For the most part, Empire is fine business wise and he has a few products that are good quality. It's mostly his ethics and advertising that he is criticized for.
Last I heard ACME didn't have any old school AM belts (but I could be wrong)

Yeah, I've seen some of Empire's products that I'm not crazy about but I don't see anything wrong with the belt and I'm someone who puts a high priority on accuracy of little details. I may just stick with the Empire belt unless Acme has the other belt. I'll keep everyone updated on how the transaction goes.

The OST Anamaria buckle is different from the AWE buckle, it's not just the five holes -- you can easily add those. As far as I know ACME doesn't make the DMC/AWE version anymore? The AnthonyZ buckle is really bad looking, quite a lack of detail. So Empire is simply your only option right now... I think.

Don't forget the buckle ref chart:

I do think Acme has the nicest belt quality wise, but for my purposes, I believe the empire one may be more accurate. Also, unrelated, any thoughts on the shrunken head that comes in the cannibal kit? As in is it worth for a cheap, decent looking accessory? Or so utterly god awful that it isn't worth the rubber/plastic its made of?
