So heres the new pic costumebase has up on ebay of the rings they now offer
Now I'm kind of glad I ordered a dragon ring from 'em

Re: Costumebase Rings revamp!
At first glance that dragon rings looks kinda off, plus the right leg of the dragon looks like a capital letter "N" lol
But the side profile doesn't look half bad...

Nice! These look better than the old ones, I'd say! I think I may have to nab some!
Re: Costumebase Rings revamp!
Yeah, the "N" on the dragon ring got my attention as soon as I saw them. Although I'm betting it wouldn't be as noticeable in person.

I never realized I had sausage fingers until now. All my sizes are 12 and 13 except for my left ring finger and thats only because it's had a wedding band on it for 13 years.

costumebase rings
hello.
Im thinking on buying these rings from CB, but i heard their sizes are too big..why?do they make the sizes by the american ring size chart? so what do you recomend ? Im thinking on ordering two or one sizes below my actual size. I have the skull ring from a hong kong store on ebay and i ordered a 11 size ring and guess what.. its too big! i went to check the real size of the ring and it corresponds to a 13 size! i really dont know why they make them so big and not corresponding to the real size on the american ringsize chart.
Let me know what do you think. thank you

Re: Costumebase Rings revamp!
I'm thinking that maybe they aren't making them too big (more likely the rings would run smaller) but they might be sending out the wrong size. I've had that happen before when I ordered a Sweeney Todd ring from CostumeBase. Sometimes with these overseas suppliers, they will list a size on their listing and then either ignore your order specifics or realize they no longer have that size in stock, and instead of telling the customer that, they just send out whatever they have and assume the customer will just do what you did (assume the sizes run differently). At least that's my take on it... May be a bit cynical but it makes sense when you think about it. These overseas companies generally aren't too concerned with paying attention to every single detail on an individual order, they mostly are trying to get the most customers they can and as many costume orders out there, so it's not surprising that you may have ended up with the wrong ring size. And this is not to say anything against CostumeBase in particular (their products are actually some of the better ones out of their section of suppliers), just a general observation of any overseas costume/cosplay house. Also these overseas suppliers generally put most of their focus on anime costumes, which might help to explain the vast accuracy discrepancies with some of their items. They are used to translating costumes from manga, anime, and comics (2-D sources, and things that do not exist), and because film quality costuming involves a much greater amount of detail and material specifics, these companies are unable to produce truly screen accurate costumes due to their line of business (making many costumes and only having around 1 month to get each costume to their clients).
But just check the Costumebase store if you don't believe me. They have hundreds of other products in addition to Jack Sparrow items that they stock and take commissions for.

Also forgot to add; these companies must maintain a certain price range in order for it to be consistent with the rest of their products. So their price and maintaining that price are additional factors that go into the whole accuracy and materials thing. And even then, their Jack Sparrow costumes are often quite a bit pricier than the video game, anime, or other types of costumes
Sorry to double post... Just thought I'd clarify that

thanks for your reply! i think i will have to send them a mail telling that i want the precise size i ordered or otherwise i want my money back.. too bad i cant spend much money on the jack rings, so i will have to take those from CB.. thanks for you help again =)
Re: Costumebase Rings revamp!
You're welcome
The CB rings aren't that bad really... they're actually fairly good for the price that you're paying. The dragon ring in particular I've heard fairly good things about

Re: Costumebase Rings revamp!
Just got this set. I already had all three by MR but the Stolen Ring didn't fit me and so I ordered this set. I like the stolen ring and the dragon ring is better than the MR version but I'm not keen on the CB flower ring. IMHO the MR one is closer to the screen usd one.

Yea, I'd agree with that. MR's Flower ring is actually very accurate, and in pics CB's flower ring doesn't look to good to begin with.
