HMS Surprise & Queen Anne's Revenge

So, I was just browsing the site for San Diego's Maritime museum (I'm planning on taking pics there as Angelica), and look what I discovered?

One of the ships in our fleet, the HMS Surprise, was used in OST [also in Master and Commander]!!! It be the ship from the "Are we not King's Men?" scene! Very cool to see.

Yep! I was pretty excited when I heard the news, since I LOVE that ship. It's very close to my heart, as Master and Commander: the Far Side of the World is one of my favorite movies of all times, and I'm also obsessed with the books upon which the film was based. San Diego is my home town, so every time I go back I try and stop by the maritime museum if possible. When I went back in August of last year I was talking to some of the volunteers there, and they dropped the hint that she'd be featured in a big upcoming movie. At first I thought they were talking about a new Master and Commander film (and my heart leapt), but then I realized they were talking about a certain new PIRATES film (and my heart leapt more).

Always good to see an old friend on screen.

Yeah! It's so fun to know that a piece of our little (well, not so little) city is on the big screen!! Can't wait to spend some time on the "Surprise" this Summer :]
