3d Printed Compass Project - WIP

Finally something I can contribute. I am consulting with a friend on his first 3D Print project. After seeing my Compass built from Zlurpo's no longer sold DIY Kit he has started his own. So far we are still in the prototyping stage and with each mock up hes painted it to get a look of how it could be. Now bearing in mind that this is his first 3d model its coming along slowly but each iteration has been better than the last. We still have a ways to go before he is happy. Now his design will have some differences to the original prop for a couple of reasons, one being strength and durability. Zlurpo's kit did have some weak areas, and bearing in mind it was a laser cut Masonite kit that was a trade off. So yeah there will be some differences in the final product but you would have to be someone who only comes here to know what they are. The regular casual observer will not know them.

From what I believe he will be offering the kit as a printed DIY put it together yourself kit. No Idea on the cost at this stage. It will be printed from ABS for strength. and to be honest that works well for it. The picture below ist prototype 4, more tweaks to come, yes some corrections to make but as you can see its well on its way.
