Interesting piece, not MR, seller says he is unsure who made it.....magnet sticks to blade and guard, is it one of Indy's? Doesn't quite look right, beyond the bend in the guard......

definitely not an indy sword. The fuller on most swords goes almost all the way up to the guard, on this one it starts at least 2 inches down from it and is more shallower looking
On the one pictured in the listing the "guard at the bottom of the pommel is squared off looking where the indy sword has a definite curve to them.

Yea, this guy was selling this on RPF and I asked him if it was a Master Replica or a NECA and this is what he said
So it's a "replica" just not a licensed replica? And since when are screen used props called "replicas?" I say buyer beware
Hi Mojo_Turbo! Actually this wasn't a licensed replica at all, I was told this was supposed to be an extra prop piece from the film back in 2005.

Kind of my thoughts too..........if it WAS screen used, it would bring a lot more! Bent guard has me troubled.....even more when he says it was "made that way".....interesting, but suspicious at the same time. I asked about the magnet as he was telling me the blade was 'metal'...well aluminum is a metal. Says it also sticks to the guard, not sure if Indy's guard will stick a magnet....will it?
Interesting sword......the grip looks like it is larger than the MR, I have one of those and the guard is a wee bit tight!

Re: Any ideas as to who made this sword?
ACME made a run of a few swords years ago, and I bought one second hand, the box showed up damaged in shipping and the hilt actually was bend like that in the same spot, and was completely broken off on the back. The box looked like an elephant sat on it. Luckily it was insured. Anyways Richard was not happy with how they turned out and stopped making them, then went on to do just a limited run of 10 Special Stunt Swords ( aircraft aluminum blades and all!) , that were made so much better! It's hard to tell in the pics, but if I remember right, the blade had that or a very similar shape. The pictures are hard to tell, but that's my educated guess!

I sent the link off to Richard of ACME and he did confirm, that I am correct, this sword was from his very first run long ago, the hilt is pewter, which is why they tended to bend so easily and why he gave up the production of them.

I wonder if Richard will contact the guy and see if he'll change his description.
Re: Any ideas as to who made this sword?
His description only says its a replica and is made of real metal,
Says nothing about the maker, and no mention of it being screen used
I think the seller is OK the way the auction is worded, though itt would be nice to mention the dented hilt!

well it certainly isn't an "extra prop piece" like he told me on RPF

Well now it says Rare and limited edition Acme sword, so someone set him straight, but I think in all fairness the seller should state that the hilt is bent!

Thanks guys....I knew they answer would come to light! I have a message from him also indicating it was used in COBP, but it was what he was told and if he didn't have access to this forum, he wouldn't have known. Yeah, think I'll pass on it.
