Captain Venno tricorn
Just thought I'd share a few pics of my new tricorn made by Captain Venno. It took him less than a week to make and it's awesome. So if your in the market for one he's your man. Top bloke.

Re: Captain Venno tricorn
It looks really good. Which version is this tricorn? Dead men´s chest or At world´s end?
What about the weathering... was it weathered and aged already?
Why is the leather-wing on the backside only folded and not rolled?

Re: Captain Venno tricorn
Its a dead mans chest version. The ost version is very different with the brim being quite open and the crown being taller.
I am using different dyes and have changed my pattern a bit since this hat so my new hats look even better.
I'll post pics in a bit

Re: Captain Venno tricorn
So NOW I've ordered a Venno-tricorn, too.
I've also chosen the DMC-Version because of its shape and form. But I think I like the color and the weathering of the AWE-version more....
So I have to ask Venno, that he makes the weathering on the DMC-version a bit stronger.
@RobbW: Please mate, just show us some pics when your tricorn has arrived...

Re: Captain Venno tricorn
As I stated above, I ordered a Venno tricorn, too. The tricorn is now ready for shipping and I have to say, that it was the right decision to choose a Venno tricorn.
I´m from Germany and Venno (Paul) lives in Great Britain, but the distance between us was NO problem at all and it was NOT just ordering, paying and waiting for the result. No it was a great pleasure to "create" my own tricorn together with Paul´s help and skills:
I had a few wishes and changes in shape and form. I decided to order the DMC-Version because of its shape and form, but I´m a great fan of weathering all costume parts. In my opinion, every Jack-costume can look really great, when it is dirty, some kind of rotten and weathered.
Here on Brethren Court are some hints and instructions for being brave with weathering the costume parts - so better go with "over-weathering" ... and I´m convinced that it is exactly the right way to build up a more screen-accurate costume.
So... I ordered the DMC-version, but asked Paul, if he could do the weathering and the color from the AWE-version. And I wanted a change at the top of the hat, the tip shouldn´t bend down too much and shouldn´t be rounded too much.
Paul changed the pattern and after each step he provided a few photos in an email. So I could see and "control" the progress of my individual tricorn. He did some weathering, took some photos, sent them in an email and asked, if I wanted to have more color to get the tricorn a bit darker and so I was able to tell him, which spots and positions should be more weathered etc.
I´m just describing this in great detail, because maybe some of you are also interested in buying a tricorn. And with Venno (Paul) it´s not only just an order and that´s it. I had the possibility to take influence on the progress of my personal and individual tricorn. It could not have been easier - no matter of the distance between Uk and Germany. Email and some photos and the great service of Venno (and his patience) helped me to get a tricorn in exactly the shape and color I always wanted.
I bow for his art in leather and his customer service!
Now I´m waiting for the parcel, but Venno sent a lot of photos and I want to share a few for your interest ...

Sorry. My Ventress COTBP tricorn arrived last Friday, and I forgot to post photos here. It came out AWESOME! Paul is a master with leather! Let's see if I can post these correctly:

Yeah looking great. The color is really good.
To test the tricorn, I have to gear up with wig and bandana, sadly...
because without them and only wearing the tricorn on my real (short) hair, it "shakes and rolls" on my head like a salad bowl. I have a circumference difference from about 10cm with or without wig/bandana.

Re: Captain Venno tricorn
Nothing wrong with it, in fact I'll be selling it soon. No the problem is the size of me noggin!. I bought the hat from a fellow jack on these boards and very lovely it is too, but after trying to wear it for a full day I realised it's too small and gives me a headache. After talking to Paul (Venno) we have realised I have a ridiculously large head and Paul is having to make me his largest hat!

Re: Captain Venno tricorn
Well trade will be difficult as I've just paid for my Venno hat, but I'll happily sell you my other one for the same price I paid for it. It's 25 inches circumference and I measure out at 27

Re: Captain Venno tricorn
I had to choose the 27", too. My head circumference is "naked" roundabout 59 cm and with wig/bandana 68,5 cm.
If your tricorn is too small, then the hat would ride up too high and stick out...so it better should be a bit larger...
