I rather liked it, all-told. Perfect it aint, but it definitely looks fun. My biggest gripe was how the heck did Jack manage to completely take out the two guards behind him with a couple quick backhands to the... what... stomach? Groin perhaps It just seemed sort of like they said, "Alright, so Jack's got two guards flanking him... but we need him to escape... and... well, we don't have time to write him a really good trick, so this will have to do."

I'm not a guy, so I wouldn't know... but I'm guessing an unsuspected punch to the groin is enough to make you lose your composure momentarily. All Jack needs to get out of range for them to grab him again!

Admittedly, even if I was a royal guardsman, a swift, unexpected punch to the groin would DEFINITELY be enough to put me out of sorts for more than just a moment. So okay, I guess I can accept that part... other than the unspoken rule that no dude should ever knock another dude in the groin intentionally (ESPECIALLY not with his bare hand)

Yeah, to give credit where credit is due, those guys regained their composure pretty quickly... and in regards to the guy knocking other guy in the groin with bare hand... see Jack's face.

I showed the clip to Travis tonight and he cracked up at Barbossa's angry face, too! Hahaha! I knew he would. But he agreed that the action seems a bit strange. In the flow of the movie, it might sit much tidier than just having it thrown at you in a clip, but I think the music is just too intense/fast paced for the way it was filmed.

And I hate that every time I watch it I want a creampuff. Hungryyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

I love this clip - and it reminds me a LOT of his escape at the beginning of COTBP - I think they really want you to have the same feeling.

and i loved the music, I don't know why some think it's too dramatic, I think it's perfect!

Since the writers have changed how the Fountain works, there is now a Profane Ritual involved:

Two Chalices are needed and a mermaid’s tear. Both cups get water from the Fountain, and one gets the tear. The two performing the ritual must drink them, BUT whoever drinks the one with the tear steals all the years of life from the other.
