Aluminum blades for toy swords any interests??
Oi mateys !! First off all I'd like to wish every pirate a happy new year!! Now I have been thinking about making aluminium blades for the toy swords , I work as a yacht builder / iron worker , so plenty alu in the shop for free haha, hope to start the proto type soon to show it to you guys , cheers gino

so unscrew the handle? and replace the blade? My sword is so bent.... I just need to convince my wife to let me buy a MR version, or Jill needs to find the blacksmith who made hers.

yeah that's the reason why I was thinking about making it out of alu , or maybe (stainless) steel
But aluminum has it's benefits, It doesn't rust it's light weight and easy to work whit ( shaping the blade)

Well I'm interested, when will you think you'll have the prototype one done by, but just one question witch toy sword do you mean.

Aluminum, eh? Now THAT'S intriguing! A lot of the screen-used fight choreography swords in the films (and in all swashbuckling films nowadays) are made of aluminum. If you could design them to be tough enough, they might make excellent lightweight sparring swords! I don't really know what it takes to make aluminum stand up to that kind of abuse, but it's definitely a thought.
