I'm about to cry... The lady who was going to make my 2 piece corset set now says the striped fabric is too thin for the corset, and there isnt enough of acmes fabric to make the vest corset top, but she can patchwork something...huh? Patchwork?!?

Well that set is out, unless I can find someone else to make it.

Edit: got someone to make the set....and I've even acquired some Jack baldric paisley leatherette, which will also be put to use in a wenchy kinda way!

The subject of boots came up in another thread, so I will show you what I ended up acquiring for my two costumes:

I bought this pair of boots for the concept Angelica costume. The coat is dark brown, and I thought these would match well.

Well the first pair are more Jackish, but the second pair with the heel are just plain hot...

But, you can't go by me because I will admit to having a strong bias towards women in boots - particularly those that are often dubbed "h@@ker boots"... (Hey, don't blame me I didn't come up with the name...)

So. I vote for the second pair...totally hot...

I've been trying to get my hands on some of that OST waist coat fabric to use on top of a corset I already have. I looked everywhere and Yordream does not sell the fabric it self Sad

Bummer! I thought it would be cool as well months ago to make a more fem. Captain Jack Sparrow outfit. Anyone know where to find the OST Waistcoat Fabric??? I'd love some help in a direction.

Look up SM Pillowfort... he sold it separate for a while but has currently halted that to preserve integrity of his product, though it may become available again in the future. If you're interested, I made a digital image for fabric printing. PM me so as to not hijack the thread from Sparrowed anymore! Laughing

Sparrowed, I almost died when I saw those flat lady like Jack boots. They are AMAZING. I just don't know if I'd wear them enough to spend $120 on them. Sad

But they make me feel INSPIRED! hahhaa Though, I do really like the boots you got, too!! I'm definitely a boot person. Can you fold the tops down on them too?

Yeah, I tried to buy more of Scotts fabric too. I wanted some scraps for my hat, but never got a reply back. I have two panels of his vest fabric left and I dont want to chop it up just for a hat.

The boots could fold down but the top is smooth leather not suede.

I like those Jack boots too, but hate that heel. I have a crazy notion to make a full on "Angelica disguised as Jack" costume since I do have my lovely Sparrow coat, and am currently saving the doubloons for a hat by Nick D. Avast

I was looking for something more sa in a boot, but since caboots is shady, I may have to go with these boots which may just have to work...?!?!?

IF I do decide to go with that boot, I will wait a bit and see if the price drops, But in the meantime (hopefully) I'll find something else.

I love my black boots by Zodiac and I think they would have been perfect for a Jack boot if I could have gotten them in brown.

BUT...Right now it's hard to think about all that stuff for another costume when I have so many doubloons out now for costume pieces that apparently are not finished, and don't even have YET! It's frustrating.
Honestly...I am really seriously considering taking a sewing class, because I would of had my 2 costumes finished by now (except for the hats) and ready for NorCal. Crying or Very sad

I have been looking into pirate boots for women but I have the high heel on them. It doesn't seem practicable for that time period. They are hot and all but I'd rather be more comfortable. I got Jack Sparrow boots in a Chocolate brown from Caboots. I have only wore them 3 times out and the heel appears to be coming un sewn.....not cool! I have to try and call them this week and see if them can fix them up for me. I've only had them....3 months?! Gee whiz.... Girl Skull

Yeah, as I said I contacted them for a dark brown Jack boot in my size, and they said it'd have to be custom, but with the problems of recent, I don't want to throw doubloons to the devil so t' speak.
I have spent enough on costumes that I don't have yet!! Evil or Very Mad

And regarding a heel...Ye gotta have a good heel, preferably OVER 3 inches, period correct or not! Laughing

Wow...seems like everybody is jumping aboard the OST corset bandwagon, er...ship!
I'm verrrry interested in seeing PFTC's corset. PFTC will also be making cinchers too. I like that idea, as long as they are steel boned!

Anyways, after being totally pissed off about not getting my corset, and having it for NorCal, it looks like I'm getting it for free, now!! wee
