How long is jacks marlinspike, or sail needle made of bone?

i find that a seven and a half inch sail needle fits my face better than a nine inch one, does anyone know how long it should be?

Depends, for CotBP/DMC/AWE it should be about 9". However for OST it's been shortened and looks to be about 5.5-6" (I'd lean towards 6" on that one).

last I heard The bone / marlingspike is approximately 8.5 inches long and 3/8 wide

Between 7-9 inches but again remember it should be scaled to your face length.

I made two versions for the film, the original 9.75 inches as in 1 through 3 & the new ones for POTC4 7 & 5/8 inches...

My sail needle is magnificent, and fierce, and HUGE-ish at 10.5 inches! I guess I need to look into getting a more rightly-sized one.

The OST goodies I have instock is listed on my site. The buffalo horn rings are so hard to find. I'll probaly just do some replicas as soon as I finish up with the next round of beard extentions.

Thanks mojo. I see on swagarts . Com that they claim to have made johnnys sail needle. Is this true? Ill have too post pictures of the sail needles I made out of a white tailed deer shin bone. I made a bunch for scott blake of yourdreem but I was only going to get $10 a piece from him, so I decided not to sell to him

Yes, I made the marlingspikes for P4. There were six for the numerous wigs used in filming. Stunts dept used a casting made of rubbery material for safety.
