Jack and co in the workroom
Hey Guys!
Thought you might be interested in seeing a few pics of work in progress on various bits and pieces, mainly Jack, but other characters too.. Also out and about, anything in my life that involves putting on anything that has anything to do with piracy that is Will add to this ongoing if I think its something you'll find interesting. Also, ask me if you want me to take a picture of anything in particular and post- work wise that is
Jack coat buttonholes being done, on my very fancy expensive domestic embroidery machine. These have to be done through the coat canvas, and before
the coat is put together. Very time consuming process! Due to the size of my embroidery frame, only three can really be done at a time, which means lining
it all up over and over again!
Bepoke cut breeches pattern for one of my customers- I make a new one each time to a specific set of measurements- no grading up or grading down. It means your items will be even more personal to you.
SHEAR HEAVEN!!!
Angelica concept costume in the making- main body mostly done, its accessories time!!
Always on the stand at home, decorating the stairs, or the office, sometimes even the kitchen! The baldric is made by Simon Newton btw, who supplies them, as well as belts, buttons and buckles..
not the best photo, but breeches!!!
just finished sewing buttons on, fun!
Always running out of back fabric, because I can never find any I like in large enough quantities, here'ss the current one
BABY WAISTCOAT! This wasn't actually for anyone, it just had to be done with the scraps. I need a little dude to model it!
Beauty
SEXY!!
FUN! Me at the front in the powdered wig sat down. Some Sparrows from the UK at a wee gathering.
POTC worthy?? I like to play dress up too. but I go a bit more overboard..
Current coat fabric I have - is the one labelled NEW FABRIC. I also have some Alternative Raffia in stock. You can choose either.
Burlesque pirate! I've done a few events for pubs/nightclubs where I've supplies the costumes for the bar staff. It usually coincided with a Jack running around getting his arse pinched and stealing rum from behind the bar.. this particular one I tagged along after dressing the staff!

hehe yes- new old! Its beautiful. I collect a lot of old sewing equipment- from rusty old shears, ivory and bone bodkins and point turners, rusty old machines! And I like to refurbish them all (or pay someone else a lot of money to do it for me!!) I now have a MASSIVE box of buttons too, old vintage tailoring ones.
No new shiny equipment for me

The Making of a pair of Jack breeches
Finished pocket and fall front- next step, back and waistband!
Topstitching detail on bottom of fall front strap, and inside edge of pocket..
Top stitching detail on bottom of fall front strap..
pocket in the process of being sewn..
Finished pocket from the inside.. (you can see the fusible on the other side before the pocket is done- I reinforce them in any parts where there is a bit of pressure on them, also
there is a 'fork lining', which is a bit of heavy siliecia stitched into the crotch of the breeches.
Back pleates done, side seams sewn up, and two piece waistband, reinforced with canvas and cotton silecia lining.. as you can see, I add extra seam allowance on the inside leg, and also on the side seams of the back, and the centre back. This means if you gain weight you can get them let out instead of having to buy another pair! Better safe then sorry
knee bands about to be made up!
Knee bands, made up!
Topstitching kneebands..
Back triangle and eyelets put in!
Finishing on inside of waistband

My GF would love to put together a Angelica costume.. Please let me know what the vest and frock for her would go for.

Do you mean the concept one (like I've done), or the actual film used version? Estimating, the film used one I would say the coat would be round about £400 and the waistcoat £100- though I would ask you to supply the fabrics, as I haven't got a stock of Angelica fabrics.
