Hi,

Could anyone tell me what the coat is like from yordreem? Infact what the rest of the costume is like?

From what I understand Yordreem makes really good waistcoats and frock coats. His breeches are pretty good too but if you don't like the "saggy butt" look in the drop front breeches you'll need to use the "Contact Us" tab and contact Scott at Yordreem to talk to him about making the pants more fitted in that area.

If you can afford it though, I think Sara Fay Tailoring makes the very best Sparrow costume items. She'll make them custom tailored for you and drafts a pattern for each individual client based on their measurements. Her frock coats are the best ones available

It depends from your point of reference really, and what you think is important - ie fabric/cut/fit etc.     Scott tends to use pretty accurate fabrics and stuff so it will always look OK to the eye in that respect, but if you're looking at actual quality of the pattern, details and finish then it's not anywhere near the same league as Sara Fay's stuff.

Whilst it's usually the case that quality costs, there are definitely some makers that are better value than others. So expensive doesn't *always* equal quality, and low price doesn't always mean good value for money.

Anyone own a non-OST vest they have photos of? I'm thinking about buying one, but there aren't enough photos online to help me make up my mind.

If you cannot afford the fine bespoke tailoring of Sara Fay, would is be safe/fair/accurate to say that Yordreem is the next best thing? I haven't been around long enough to know the hierarchy of preferred Jack costuming vendors with regards to quality and price.

Hmm... it depends what your long term aim is. If it will be your final purchase (and we've all said that before) then possibly. If you're planning on upgrading in the future, then a lot of Jacks have done a nice adaptation of a fairly cheap costume (it's on the forum somewhere) for a lot cheaper (and probably quicker) than Yordreem, and still looks good.

Intentions are for these to be my final purchases. Not sure what you would upgrade to from Yordreem. Do you mean eventually upgrading to even higher quality such as Sara Fay? Or are you meaning updating your costume to another version of Jack as new POTC movies come out? I am keen on the CotBP Jack and have no plans to update to another version of Jack.

While we are talking about Yordreem here, I have another quick question for those who have done business with him in the past. On average, is Scott pretty quick to respond to inquiries or verifying orders? Or is he often quite busy and might take a bit of time getting back to you? I'm not being impatient. I am simply trying to make sure that my transaction went through properly due to some recent changes I have made to my Paypal account and such. Thanks.

I meant updating to a higher quality one. I've lost count of the number of Jack's who catch the bug and need to constantly improve! I don't know about Scott from a buying point of view - but I do supply him with buttons from time to time and he's usually pretty quick on correspondence.

Okay, I just checked Scott's website again, and in the "fine print", he does say that he will respond to communications within five business days. So, I will rest, relax, and await his reply. Thanks.
