Transporting your items
So, just out of curiosity, how do some of you other Jacks here transport/store some of your effects and what not? Something simple like a duffel bag or suit case? Or something more interesting like a giant trunk or chest? I have everything in a big plastic tote and some of my smaller items in a guitar coffin case I had laying around (totally unnecessary but it always draws attention walking into a hotel carrying that thing)

I don't....
I store them, but don't transport them. In storage I have all the trinkets, leathers and hard items in a plastic storage bin in the garage. And all the soft items are hanging up in a zippered garment bag

I go to various events in which I'm usually at a hotel for a weekend so transportation is pretty regular for me, I've been toying with the thought of one of those big old leather trunks

Re: Transporting your items
When I travel I am actually able to fit all of my Jack Sparrow stuff (minus the sword and baldric) in a carry-on suitcase. lol
But I think if you just get a large square suitcase (like one that is half the size of you) that would work better.
I have a question regarding checking your items for the plane... what does the TSA do about the fake pistols we have? As most of us have very realistic looking pistols, I was wondering if you had to declare something extra or what happens with that?

Re: Transporting your items
some of the mates talked about TSA troubles on KTTC, but nothing specific regarding the flintlock. It's a toy. People buy them at Disneyland and Florida every year and THEY have to fly them home all of the time. Just don't put it in your carry on.
Re: Transporting your items
I am not using the toy one though... I have one of the Denix replicas, and what happens when I guy a ForgottenSeasTradingCo one? That one is solid wood, with metal moving parts (not a functioning flintlock in that it doesn't fire, but it's a highly realistic prop). I am just wondering because I am moving out to the Midwest of the US but I will still be going to events on the east coast, so I will need to fly to and from locations. I don't want to have to use my toy pistol since it is not modified yet
