How different is the backside of the OST wig?

I would say the back of the wig is the one aspect of the whole OST costume we have not seen the most of, or have good pics of. I know in the DMT version, we have noticed specific things about how the pony tail is tied etc... was there anything about this wig that stood out as different or new from the backside?

I didn't really get a good look at the back of the wig as most of the time when I could see it, it was on my head!

I just think its odd that the Disney Jack has a fabric tie around the pony tail, and wondered what the inspiration was for it.

It looks like they made a scrunchy out of hair, like they didn't know how to tie it, so it has an invisible knot of hair to hold it in place? But it certainly is a pony tail and not a braid.

Huh... well that's actually rather disappointing. I was pretty impressed with how they did the rest of this costume, but it's like they just gave up when it came to the back of the wig. You'd think they were working off of the extremely small quantity of photos WE have to use...

is really similar to the "old" one... main Braid.."THE THREE STRING HAIR BRAID " with at least 3 dreadlocks inside.. everything put together with 2 strip of leather ,.

Interesting... when you say "2 strips of leather," how do you mean it? In what way were those 2 strips used? I have one (for my "original trilogy" wig) crisscrossing down, and then a smaller one tying it off at the bottom. Is that about right? Or is there a different method to your knowledge?

The cross looks very similar to Scott's version, doesn't it?

It still looks like a braid down the back to me...just very loose and messy...Actually, it's probably what Travis' looks like at this moment. But there's still a tie at the bottom too which would also indicate that it's a braid, though that could just be for the cross dangle.

So I see at least 7-8 dreads that all have attachment points on top of the wig.

- How many go through the top leather tie and weaved into the back ponytail?
- How many go through the top leather tie but are NOT weaved into the back ponytail?
- How many go under the bandana but are DO NOT go through the top leather tie and are just free hanging?

Anybody that was onset and has this info please let us know. Your input would be helpful.

6 dreadlocks , in to the braid.
in london scenes he has one of the dreadlocks going from the top of the bandana in to the main braid something like this :




but after that in some scenes, the dread is gone.. movie magic .. blackbeard magic?... spoiler.

Oh well I guess my ponytail is not going to get the upgrade because my ties underneath the leather ties are permanent. Bundled up tight and superglued!!! To ensure that ponytail never unravels but allows for the straight hair to slowly get messed up.

I think I could fake it by adding shorter dreads to the top of the wig and thread them down through the top of the ponytail and end underneath.
