The Netsuke Mermaid Charm & Python Bones
When I first got my Netsuke Mermaid Charm I thought it was pretty small because I had owned other versions. But turns it.. it is very small...
Compare as it sits against Cristian's pinky: http://jacksparrowcostuming.wikispaces.com/file/view/Mermaid_Bone_Master_ref.jpg
Here is mine against a ruler: http://jacksparrowcostuming.wikispaces.com/file/view/mermaidtetsukemeasure.jpg
There are still plenty of Sellers out there - you should be able to pick one up for a reasonable price.
Oh, and if you pick up SWAGARTS fertility amulet, she will have a HUGE rack!

Re: The Netsuke Mermaid Charm & Python Bones
Thanks mate! I actually grabbed one from that Asian Art Mall site a bit ago. I still think it's a tad on the smallish side, so I wouldn't mind finding one that's a bit bigger, but for right now it suits my purposes well.
Re: The Netsuke Mermaid Charm & Python Bones
mine is far to big then...... Extra fertile pirate....this is getting silly.....
Re: The Netsuke Mermaid Charm & Python Bones
Mine's also 1 inch, and, yeah, feels just a bit smaller than it should be. I also have one that is just huge - 2 inches (should have read the ebay description more carefully...). When I was looking to buy one I never found anything in between.

Yeah, I get the impression it's kinda' either/or. My new one, I believe, is about an inch. Not sure, as I've got it packed away just now, but that does sound about right. I kind of prefer the larger one, actually. But this is fine for now. Now I've got to get my hands on another python vertebrae.
Re: The Netsuke Mermaid Charm & Python Bones
Oh, man, the 2 inch one looks just ridiculous hanging from the belt. I definitely prefer a smaller one.
Yeah, I need a real vertebrae too. I just sculpted mine out of some sort of modeling paste and painted it... It looks good, but a real one would be much more better. Never found one though...

Thanks for the link, Mojo! Unfortunately they said they don't ship the vertabrae internationally:
- Code:
Unfortunately, all python species are on CITES, which if you unfamiliar with the acronym means that expensive permits need to be accompanied with the bone material. We do not ship CITES material internationally. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Yeah, that's where I got my last one, and I was very pleased with it. I'm just bummed because it looks like their prices have about doubled since I bought from them previously.
